iPhone 11 Pro Stuck on Black, Blue, or Blank Screen After iOS 13.2.3 Update? Try These Fixes

If your iPhone 11 Pro suddenly went black, blue, or stuck on a blank screen right after installing iOS 13.2.3, you’re not alone. This update was meant to fix bugs — but for some users, it triggered serious display issues instead. Whether your screen is frozen or completely unresponsive, there are several fixes you can try before heading to the Apple Store.

1. Force Restart Your iPhone

This is the go-to move for any frozen or unresponsive iPhone.

  1. Quickly press and release the Volume Up button.
  2. Quickly press and release the Volume Down button.
  3. Press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.

If this works, your phone should reboot and return to normal. If not, continue with the next step.

2. Charge Your iPhone for 30 Minutes

It’s possible your battery died suddenly — especially if you’re experiencing a black screen and the phone seems completely off.

  1. Plug your iPhone into a wall charger (not a computer).
  2. Leave it plugged in for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Try turning it on again by holding the Side button.

If nothing happens, try force restarting while the phone is plugged in.

3. Restore Your iPhone via iTunes or Finder (DFU Mode)

If your iPhone still won’t boot, a system-level error might be blocking the display. A DFU (Device Firmware Update) restore can help.

⚠️ Warning: This will erase your device. Only do this if you’re okay with starting fresh or have a backup.

Steps to enter DFU mode:

  1. Connect your iPhone to your Mac (Finder) or PC (iTunes).
  2. Quickly press and release the Volume Up, then Volume Down.
  3. Press and hold the Side button until the screen turns black.
  4. Once black, hold Volume Down while still holding the Side button.
  5. After 5 seconds, release the Side button, but keep holding Volume Down for another 10 seconds.

If successful, your screen will stay black and your computer will detect a device in recovery mode.

Now, choose Restore in iTunes/Finder and follow the prompts to reinstall iOS.

4. Try Third-Party iOS Repair Tools (No Data Loss Options Available)

If DFU mode feels too risky or complicated, third-party tools can help — and some even offer repair modes that don’t erase your data.

Top tools to check out:

  • ReiBoot by Tenorshare
  • iMyFone Fixppo
  • Dr.Fone – Repair
  • PhoneRescue for iOS

Make sure to use a trusted source and read reviews before installing anything.

5. Still Stuck? Visit Apple Support

If none of these work, the problem could be hardware-related (especially if your phone was dropped or exposed to moisture). Your best bet at this point is:

  • Contact Apple Support via chat or call
  • Book an appointment at a Genius Bar
  • Or visit an authorized Apple repair center
