iPhone X Internet Very Slow After iOS 13.2 Update? Here’s How to Fix It
Is your iPhone X suddenly crawling on the internet after updating to iOS 13.2? You’re not the only one. Whether it’s due to buggy software, bad network settings, or Wi-Fi issues, slow internet can be incredibly frustrating. Luckily, there are a few proven fixes that can help speed things back up.
Try these steps to get your iPhone X browsing fast again.
1. Reboot Your iPhone X
A fresh restart can flush out temporary glitches after an update.
Soft reset steps:
- Press and hold the Side button and either Volume button.
- Slide to power off.
- After 30 seconds, press the Side button again to power back on.
Or force restart:
- Press and quickly release Volume Up.
- Press and quickly release Volume Down.
- Press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears.
Test your internet speed again after the reboot.
2. Refresh Network Connections
A quick toggle can reset your connection and fix speed issues.
Option A: Toggle Wi-Fi
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
- Turn Wi-Fi off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
Option B: Airplane Mode Trick
- Go to Settings > Airplane Mode.
- Turn it on, then perform a soft reset.
- After rebooting, go back to Settings and turn Airplane Mode off.
Let your phone reconnect to Wi-Fi and test the speed again.
3. Forget Wi-Fi Networks and Reconnect
Saved Wi-Fi settings can become corrupted after updates.
To forget and rejoin:
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
- Tap the “i” icon next to your network.
- Tap Forget This Network, then confirm.
- Reboot your phone.
- Go back to Settings > Wi-Fi, reconnect, and enter the password again.
This often resolves conflicts that slow your browsing down.
4. Reset Network Settings
This wipes all saved networks and network settings—great for clearing out post-update conflicts.
To reset:
- Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset.
- Tap Reset Network Settings.
- Enter your passcode and confirm.
Your iPhone will reboot automatically. Reconnect to Wi-Fi and test internet speed again.
5. Restore Your iPhone in Recovery Mode (Advanced)
If you’re still stuck with slow speeds, a deeper restore may fix firmware-level issues.
What you’ll need:
- A Mac or PC with the latest iTunes.
- A Lightning cable to connect your iPhone X.
How to restore in recovery mode:
- Open iTunes and connect your iPhone to your computer.
- Quickly press and release Volume Up, then Volume Down.
- Press and hold the Side button until you see the recovery mode screen.
- Choose Restore in iTunes.
This reinstalls iOS 13.2 cleanly without wiping your personal data (unless you choose a full wipe).
Still Slow? Call Your ISP or Apple Support
If your other devices have fast internet but your iPhone X doesn’t, it’s likely a device issue. Contact Apple Support to dig deeper. If all your devices are slow, contact your internet provider to reset or upgrade your connection.
