How To Factory Reset iPhone Without Passcode and Apple ID

If you lost your passcode and Apple ID, you know how impossible it seems to get back into your locked iPhone. In fact, it’s virtually impossible without that necessary information. Apple can sometimes help you out and get you back in, so long as you have your ID and an email that you can access, otherwise, you don’t have a whole lot of options available to you.

You can’t even reset your iPhone without your passcode and Apple ID, which leaves you stuck. Luckily, there’s at least one third-party tool that you can use, and it’s called 4uKey. 4uKey was designed to breakthrough Apple ID blockades and passcodes, but it does only work with iPhones that are activated on a carrier network.

So long as you meet that requirement, we can factory reset your phone without knowing the passcode or Apple ID.

Phone pre-requisities

For 4uKey to work, there are some prerequisites that you should be aware of. This is because the software only works under certain conditions.

If Find My iPhone is turned off, 4uKey will work with just about any iPhone out there. If you’re running anything above iOS 12 with Find My iPhone turned on, you cannot use 4uKey to remove the passcode or Apple ID.

However, if you’re running iOS 10.2 to iOS 11.4 with Find My iPhone turned on, you can still use 4uKey to crack through and remove your Apple ID or passcode.

The factory reset process

How 4uKey unlocks your iPhone is a little more on the complicated side. It doesn’t completely factory reset your phone as you would normally through the Settings app. Instead, it breaks through your passcode and Apple ID so that you can add a new Apple ID, which you can then use to factory reset the phone yourself.

Before we get started, it’s very important to remember that, after the Apple ID removal, make sure that you do not erase all contents and settings on the device. Nor will you want to restore your iPhone with iTunes after the removal.

This is because the original Apple ID will be required to activate your device after restarting. On top of that, you won’t be able to remove the Apple ID via the 4uKey software a second time.

So how do you factory reset an iPhone without the passcode? To start, grab the 4uKey software from Tenorshare for Mac or Windows here.

Once you have it downloaded, install the software to your desktop. After that, you can launch the software, and then connect your iPhone to the computer via a USB cable.

Once you’re into the program, press the Start button. Immediately after, 4uKey will offer to download the latest firmware package for it to start. Press the Download button.

After it’s downloaded, press the Select button, and click on the file for your firmware package. Follow the instructions in the software, and then it should remove your passcode, where you’ll then be greeted at the classic Hello screen.

What about for Android?

It’s worth noting that 4uKey offers similar software for Android as well. It also has a higher success rate since Android isn’t nearly as locked down as iOS is. The process, however, is pretty much similar, but allows you to remove Android passwords, PIN numbers, and even patterns.

It’s easy, quick, and takes just a couple of minutes. You can grab the software for the Android side of things here. And again, it’s pretty much a similar process, plugging your Android into the computer, and then following the on-screen steps to unlock the Android device.

As you can see, it’s not the easiest way to factory reset your phone, but it is by far better than leaving yourself with an iPhone that you cannot use. 4uKey also gives you a free trial to use, so it’s essentially a risk-free process, requiring no actual money up front. Afterwards though, you do have the option of buying the Pro version to unlock some extra features that help with unlocking your iPhone.
