Problem #1: How to fix iPhone 7 with No Service issue and stuck in boot loop
My iPhone 7 has recently started to become very very troublesome. A few weeks ago, it stopped connecting to any cellular network and couldn’t receive/send phone calls, text messages or anything cellular related. I initially thought it was a problem with my network provider but I put my SIM card into another phone and it worked perfectly fine. So i got onto googling the issue and just last week i found on Apple’s support page turns out its a hardware issue from Apple’s side and they were willing to repair it free of charge. I put that off for a while because the phone was still operational with wifi and i haven’t really gotten a chance to take it in to Apple yet.
Not even a week later, 2 days ago, i texted someone on WhatsApp, locked my phone and put my phone down. 2 minutes later i look across the room at my phone and i see the Apple logo pop up, which comes on when you reboot the phone. At first i thought it was just rebooting on its own, which i wasn’t surprised at because Apple devices do that sometimes. I was shocked when I realized that it was actually stuck on a rebooting loop, with it displaying the Apple logo for a couple of seconds and then going off and endlessly continuing in this loop. My first thought was to connect it to iTunes and either update it or in the worst case scenario, restore it because just a few days prior to that, i had reset the phone so there was already a back up on my iTunes. I failed horribly because if i try to update it says it cannot be updated and needs to be restored and if i agree to restore, it fails and gives me the 4013 error. It’s now been 3 days of me switching laptops, USB cables, tons of Google and YouTube searches (landing me here) and attempts to contact Apple (i tried calling Apple support and apparently the only support I’m going to receive is from my network provider which didn’t happen either).
At this point I’ve began to believe that it’s a hardware problem first of all but more importantly I’m extremely tired of this. Taking it straight to Apple for repairs is so costly, especially where i live. At the moment, the phone is stuck in recovery mode because i cannot restore or update it from iTunes and from here on my only hope is to go out and get a new phone. If you have any advice or troubleshooting tips for me, please help me. I will really appreciate if you guys can assist me in any way. Thank You. **I live in South Africa and my network provider is Vodacom. These are not options when filling this questionnaire.
Solution: When it comes to fixing iOS devices at end-user level, the most that you can do is to attempt the Restore procedure. If that did not work at all, you’re out of luck because in this situation, the next step for you is repair. Restoring your iPhone’s software information using a previous backup is usually effective in fixing issues caused by bad apps or software bugs. Apparently, your phone has a hardware issue although we can’t really pinpoint what particular component or components they may be. Only after a thorough hardware check can one know for sure. If you want to resolve the issue, we suggest that you try to send the phone using Apple’s Repair Program for No Service issue at first. If your case will be rejected, then that’s the time that you let them do the normal repair.
Problem #2: What to do if your iPhone 7 screen is unresponsive after it was damaged
The screen is unresponsive after the lcd replacement of my iphone 7 which became broken because I happened to sit on it. It now some sort of a hard touch unlike last time which is smooth and soft touch. And there are times when it hangs and when other apps are opening even when I’m not clicking it same as the keyboard. I hope this can still be fixed. I went to an apple store and they told me that they do not accept services with regards to broken screens and for iphones that are bought internationally. Its devastating but I still hope it can be fixed because it’s really of a hassle thing I’m experiencing right now. Thank you.
Solution: Your phone is apparently physically broken so we suggest that you save yourself from looking for software solutions for it. A damaged or cracked screen can’t be fixed by tweaking the software. What you need is repair. If your local Apple store refuses to process your repair request, bring the phone to a local independent service center and let them replace the screen for you.
Problem #3: How to fix your iPhone 7 with GPS not working properly
Hi. This has been beyond frustrating, to say the least. My GPS on my IPhone 7, which is still in great condition ( only a couple of years old but is still fast with a 94% battery life at full power, I have tried all of your troubleshooting tips to the letter except have to take it to the factory- everything else works perfectly except the GPS-
The main issue is that unless I ‘check -in’ someplace, I never see my location or gps in light grey right above my post like when I had the older IPhone 5. For some reason, there is some hiccup in it that I am missing I would love to fix. My settings are enabled for FB location sharing- no problem at all with my settings- but the only time I see my location is when I ‘Check-IN’ someplace and that is Not how GPS is supposed to work, My location should automatically appear above my post- be it a picture or a post, or whatever- but it doesn’t, If there is any way you can help me fix this glich, I would be eternally grateful. I almost can’t wait until September to get a new IPhone x just so this feature will work- because it should ! Thank you.
Solution: There may be an app or operating system bug that causes GPS functionality to not work properly. Below are the things that you can try to do to fix the issue.
Install iOS updates
With or without issues, you’re supposed to do this troubleshooting step. Updates not only bring coding and cosmetic changes but also fixes for known bugs. To minimize operating system issues, you should make it a habit to always install system updates. By default, iPhones are set to download updates but if you changed this before, be sure to check under Settings > General > Software Update.
Like system updates, your apps also require regular updates to lessen chances of them interfering with iOS or causing problems. To manually check for app updates, you can open the App Store app and tap on Updates at the bottom.
Reset network settings
Some connectivity and text messaging bugs are sometimes caused by incorrect network settings. To ensure that your iPhone 7 has the right network configuration, make sure to reset all network settings. Here’s how:
- Tap Settings to open the app.
- Tap General.
- Tap Reset.
- Select the option to Reset Network Settings.
- If prompted, enter the device password.
- Confirm action.
Reset all settings
