iPhone 8 This Site Can’t Be Reached Error
Problem: Hello! I am from the US but living in Germany. My phone is one I bought in the US and had unlocked when I moved here. I wasn’t sure if I should put US or Germany. Anyway, My LTE is working fine. My wifi on my phone is the problem. I know it is not the wifi in my house because my computer and husbands phone works fine. So my wifi works when I use apps such as facebook or instagram. It also works when I search in search engines. It is just when I click on the links to the websites that pull up when it doesn’t work. The error that comes up says “This site can’t be reached “the website I clinked on” server IP address could not be sound. Try: Checking the connection”. My email is also not working right. It sometimes loads new emails but I am getting a “Cannot get mail. The connection to the server failed.” message a lot. I am hoping you can help me. I have done a few things already such as turning my phone off, resetting my network settings, resetting all settings and enabling restrictions. I am not sure what else to do. I would rather not completely wipe my phone clean. I think that’s an absolute last resort for me. Im hoping it doesn’t come to that. Thank you!
Solution: If this problem only occurs when your phone is connected to your Wi-Fi network then there’s a possibility that this is caused by your Wi-Fi connection. Try forgetting the Wi-Fi network from your phone then connect to it again.
- Navigate to the Home screen.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- Tap the blue “i” or information icon right next to the Wi-Fi network you want to delete or forget.
- Tap the option to Forget this Network.
Restart your phone then search for the Wi-Fi network and connect to it again.
In case the issue persists then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Make sure that the phone has the correct time and date settings.
- Try connecting your phone to a different Wi-Fi network. If the issue does not occur then the problem might lie with your router settings.
- Try turning off your router and your phone. Leave both devices off for a minute then turn them on. Check if the issue still occurs.
In case the issue still persists then you should consider completely wiping your phone then setting it up as a new device. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing this step.
