The iPhone in some of its earlier variants of iOS had all sorts of problem during the update process. That has been pretty much sorted out, particularly with the better iCloud integration; however, there are still iPhone updates issues to be had, even if it's far fewer.
We all know that technology is weird. As such, our iPhone and iPad devices do weird things. Boot up your device during or after an update, and you could experience any strange problem, such as the screen stuck on the iPhone logo, a black screen, a frozen white screen, or even a frozen home screen.
Another common problem is getting the iPhone stuck in recovery mode after an update.
So if you're experiencing some of these problems, we've got an easy way for you to fix your iPhone update issues without any data loss. Let's get started, shall we?

Before we do anything, you can try and exit Recovery Mode manually with a hard reset. If you're using any the iPhone 8 and up, this process will hard reset the phone:
- Press and release the Volume Up switch
- Press and release Volume Down switch.
- Press and hold the Power Button. Your iPhone will restart.
- The iPhone restarts, and once you're back to the home screen, the hard reset is complete. You should be out of recovery mode after this.
If that process didn't work, we can use the TenorShare Recovery Tool to get your iPhone out of the dreaded recovery mode. To get started, download the ReiBoot Recovery tool here. It's available for both Mac and Windows, so you don't have to be on any particular platform.
After downloaded and installed, open up ReiBoot on your desktop. You'll also want to connect your iPhone or iPad to the computer through a USB device.
Once connected, ReiBoot automatically recognizes your iPhone or iPad. Finally, click on the Exit Recovery Mode button, and then your device will be restarted.
Once you click that button, what's happening is what's called a 1-Click Exit Recovery Mode. This can take a little bit of time, but should have you back on your home screen pretty quickly.
If that didn't work, we will need to go deeper into the problem. Once your iPhone is back into the home screen, or at least back where it was stuck, you'll want to click on the Repair Operating System button.
Now, click on Start and follow the wizard. Once ReiBoot identifies your device, you'll want to click on the Download button to start downloading the firmware. After downloaded, press the Start Repair button. This can take some time, so you'll need to be patient as it works your phone out of the recovery mode.
Once finished, everything should be fixed and your phone should be free to be used as normal.
Alternatively, you can usually use iTunes to fix most of your Recovery Mode problems. Connect your iPhone or iPad to the computer via your USB cable, and then launch iTunes. iTunes should automatically recognize your device in Recovery Mode, which then gives you a few options out of it.
You should see a prompt appear, which will give you the option to keep your data and Update the phone. Or, you can Restore to a backup, which means you will lose any new data that wasn't included in your last backup. If you use iCloud, that shouldn't be too much of an issue, since backups happen automatically. You'll lose a day's worth of data at most.
As you can see, ReiBoot is an excellent tool to sort out any iPhone update problems. It can do a lot more than just pull your iPhone or iPad out of Recovery Mode, but offers other options within the tool for fixing problems like freezing, boot loops problems, downgrading to a previous version of iOS, and more.
