5 Best Skype Headsets In 2019

Are you looking for a good headset for video conferences or calls over Skype? You probably don’t want to use those clunky, gamer-esque headsets, especially during what is supposed to be a professional meeting. Lower profile choices are almost always the way to go, and often sound better.

Not sure which one to pick up for your upcoming Skype call? Follow along, and we’ll show you five of our top choices for using with Skype, whether for at the computer or on your phone.

Plantronics Voyager Legend

You can’t compile the “best headsets” without mentioning Plantronics in your list.. That said, the Voyager Legend headset is one that you cannot pass up. In fact, your boss or clients may just personally thank you for using this one!

One of the cool things about this one is that it can withstand rain, sweat, and even accidents like spills. That means that you’re getting a Bluetooth headset that’s going to be able to last you quite awhile.

The Voyager Legend is one of our favorites for noisy areas, too. That’s because the Voyager Legend is able to separate your voice from up to a whopping 80 Db’s of background noise. So, if you’re trying to have a meeting in a noisy coffee shop, this one will be able to hook you up.

Plantronics Explorer 50

Also from Plantronics, the Explorer 50 is another one worth looking it for your next Skype meeting. This one only features a Bluetooth 3.0 connection, but it still connects to your computer and/or smartphone just fine.

The only “con” here is that, because of the older Bluetooth generation, your battery life with it might not be as good as it could be.

That said, the Plantronics Explorer 50 is ergonomic and lightweight, making it optimal for those longer Skype meetings. One of our favorite parts is having the 11 hours of battery life, despite that older Bluetooth generation. Your mileage may vary, though.

The Plantronics Explorer 50 is one worth picking up for sure.

Jabra Stealth

Jabra Stealth

Want something a little more unique? Then you may want to consider what Jabra is offering in the Stealth headset. It may have a unique style, but stays comfortable for hours of listening time.

This one has an excellent built-in microphone, which makes this really ideal for your Skype meetings. On top of that, the Jabra Stealth also ensures “crystal clear sound at both ends of phone calls,” even if it is is a mono setup.

Jabra, much like Plantronics, is well-known for all sorts of audio accessories. The Stealth tries to uphold that reputation, actually having a built-in mic considered to be the best in the industry. Jabra’s talented software team has also managed to pull some tricks off with the Stealth, reducing background noise to the absolute minimum.

Battery life, however, isn’t nearly as good as the Explorer 50, only giving you around six hours. That said, keep an eye out for those longer meetings!

Samsung Level U Pro

Samsung Level U Pro

The Samsung Level U Pro is one of our favorites here, and operates over Bluetooth like the rest. It connects up easy to your PC or laptop, but also works well with iOS and Android platforms.

With crystal clear clarity, the Samsung Level U Pro will be a perfect addition to your arsenal of devices for your Skype meetings. It works well with regular talk time, too.

This is probably one of the more comfortable choices out there, since it actually rests on your neck. When your ready for your meeting, you can insert the earbuds, and when you’re done, just pop them out.

On top of that, the neck portion is entirely adjustable. The Level U Pro can also handle liquid accidents, all thanks to the built-in water resistance. Battery life is some of the best out there, lasting up to 9 full hours of talk time on a single charge.

Plantronics Voyager 5200

And finally, but certainly not least, we’re looking at the Voyager 5200. The Plantronics Voyager 5200 has a lot of awesome features inside of it, with it sporting some cutting edge noise cancelling technology — perfect for the Skype meeting in a noisy area.

If you’re worried about ambient noise getting through the mic, don’t! With four built-in microphones and a proprietary DSP that works together to cancel disruptive background noise like traffic or crowds, it has some of the best noise cancellation out there.

Verdict

Most of these will do just fine for your Skype calls. However, we think you’re likely to get the best performance out of the Plantronics Explorer 50 or the Plantronics Voyager Legend. They can connect up to your PC by way of Bluetooth, and the same goes for your smartphone.
