How to fix iMessage that suddenly stops working your Apple iPhone XS Max, unable to send or receive iMessages

Apple also has its own instant messaging service that lets iPhone users send and receive SMS, documents, contact details, photos, videos and other contents to or from other Apple devices. This service is called iMessage. In order to use iMessage, your device must be connected to the Internet either through Wi-Fi or cellular data network. Other requirements to use iMessage aside from Internet connection would include iMessage feature activation from the Messages app and a valid Apple ID account. You need to set up and use iMessage with your Apple ID/credentials.

Once you’ve met all these requisites, you should be all set to send and receive iMessages on your device. But there are some factors that can trigger iMessage to suddenly stop working. And one of these is a faulty update. Highlighted below are standard procedures or generic solutions to deal with post-update problems with iMessage on the new iPhone XS Max handset. How to troubleshoot iPhone XS Max with iMessage problem

Before you begin troubleshooting, check and make sure that your iPhone has stable Internet connection. If you’re relying on Wi-Fi for iMessages, then go to Settings-> Wi-Fi menu then toggle the Wi-Fi switch to turn it OFF and then back on. Doing so will refresh your phone’s wireless Internet connection. Do the same with Cellular Data network by going to Settings-> Cellular menu, then toggle the switch to turn Cellular Data off and then on again. First solution: Turn iMessage off and then on again.

  3. Select Location Services.

Please note though that this reset also deletes all your saved data in the phone memory, hence creating backups beforehand would be necessary.
