You can also start a conference call or group conversation through Messages. To get started, you’ll need to create a group chat by tapping on the contact’s names and then tapping on FaceTime. All participants must have an iPhone that’s running iOS 12. Here’s how to start hosting a conference call or group conversation through your iPhone XS Max Messages and FaceTime:

  1. Open the stock Messages app.
  2. Scroll to and select an existing group conversation or start a new one.

  4. After selecting Avatars, tap FaceTime.

Everyone in the conference is now set to begin having a group conversation.
