Apple Music has received some flak over the past few days over the royalty issues with some of the artists. But with those issues having been dealt with, the company will offer Pharrell Williams‘ new single, ‘Freedom‘ exclusively on Apple Music starting June 30.
This is a big partnership for Apple as it looks to get more users hooked onto its new music streaming service. With Beats transitioning into a radio like service, Apple Music will be front and center for all your music needs on the Apple ecosystem. As a reminder, Apple will be offering first three months of Apple Music for free, which will include this single as well.
Excerpts of this track were also used on the Apple Music promo video, while Pharrell himself has been teasing its arrival as well. It might seem a little unfair to the other players that Apple Music is securing an exclusive for a popular artist’s song, but that’s just the way this business works and rivals will have to adapt accordingly.
