iPhone 6 Plus Icons Are Big

Problem: Went to use my phone this morning and it’s stuck with supersized icons. I cannot change this and I have tried. I cannot even access my setting to even try and fix this. My phone is running on iOS 8.1.3.

Solution: It appears that the zoom feature of your phone has been activated. When this feature is turned on the icons on the screen becomes larger. To turn this feature off follow the steps listed below.

  • Open Settings
  • Tap on Display & Brightness
  • Tap on View under the Display Zoom label
  • You should see two tabs on top – Standard and Zoomed
  • To turn on display zoom, tap on Zoomed.
  • Standard turns off the display zoom feature.

iPhone 6 Plus Brightness Changes Automatically

Problem: hi, my iphone 6+ auto change brightness when I play a game, auto-brightness is off. Display become darker after 3-5 min comes back with 100% brightness. Should I get a new phone, or the problem is in software (wait next update)

Solution: If the auto brightness feature has been disabled then the screen brightness should not automatically change. The first thing you should consider is if this is caused by the game that you are playing. You will need to force close this app.

  • Press the Home button two times quickly. You’ll see small previews of your recently used apps.
  • Swipe left to find the app you want to close.
  • Swipe up on the app’s preview to close it.

If the issue persists try running different apps and see if the screen brightness automatically changes. If it doesn’t then this may be an issue with the game that you are playing.

If the brightness of your screen still changes even when running other apps then your next step is to do a restart.

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
  • Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
  • After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

If the restart fails then you should reset your phone

  • Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

If you are still having a problem then you should erase your phone and set it up as a new device. Remember to back-up your data before performing this procedure.

  • Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
  • Follow the onscreen instruction to setup your phone as a new device.

If the problem persists then this may already be hardware related. You should bring your phone to the nearest Apple Store for checking.

iPhone 6 Plus Blurry Rear Camera Photos

Problem: iPhone 6 plus rear camera is not focusing, won’t remain stable and is blurry no matter how still I get whether video or picture.  Automatic or manual focus not working either.   Front facing camera works fine.   Seems OIS isn’t doing anything but making it worse.

Steps I have taken:

  • Closed all apps and forced reboot of phone.
  • Reset all settings.
  • Restored phone to latest 8.1 software and set up as new phone.

Results still the same even if I use 3rd party camera/video app.

Solution: Follow the steps listed below that are to be done when you get blurry photos.

  • Make sure that the camera lens is clean. If you need to clean the lens, use a microfiber cloth. If you see dirt or debris inside the lens, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider for more help.
  • Make sure that there’s nothing blocking the camera lens. If you’re using a case, try removing it.
  • With iPhone 6 Plus, a metallic case or magnetic lens could interfere with optical image stabilization. If you have a metallic case or magnetic lens attachment, try taking a picture without it. Then compare the quality.
  • Adjust the focus by tapping on the person or object in the preview screen. You’ll see the screen pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as the camera adjusts. In photo mode, try to stay steady when adjusting the focus. If you move too far in any direction, the camera will automatically refocus to the center. In video mode, you can adjust the focus before you begin recording.
  • If the color seems too bright, or you see double-exposures of moving objects, make sure that HDR is set to Auto or Off. Tap HDR at the top of the screen to choose a different setting.

If the issue still persists then you should bring your phone to the nearest Apple Store.

iPhone 6 Plus Touch ID Not Working

Problem: My touch id hasn’t been working lately, i updated to ios version and it still worked, just about 3 days ago it recognizes my finger print about 1 out of 8 times, also when i try to add another finger print it says that it is undetectable, I’ve tried with multiple fingers and other people and it still says it can’t, nothing else seems to be wrong with the phone just this

Solution: There are instances when the Touch ID of your phone will not work properly. If you are experiencing a problem with this feature then try following the steps listed below.

  • Make sure that you’re using the latest version of iOS.
  • Make sure that your fingers and the Home button are clean and dry.*
  • Cover the Home button completely. Don’t tap too quickly, don’t press down hard, and don’t move your finger while Touch ID is scanning. Make sure that your finger touches the metal ring around the Home button.
  • If you’re using a case or screen protector, make sure it doesn’t cover the Home button or the surrounding ring. If it does, remove the case or screen protector and try again.
  • Tap Settings > Touch ID & Passcode and make sure that iPhone Unlock or iTunes & App Store is on. Also make sure that you’ve enrolled one or more fingerprints.
  • Try enrolling a different finger.
  • If you can’t enroll any of your fingers, take your device to an Apple Retail Store, Apple Authorized Service Provider, or contact AppleCare for help.

iPhone 6 Plus Red Spot On Black Screen

Problem: I have an annoying 3mm irregular shaped red spot on my iPhone 6 plus screen when using apps with black background. Anyone having the same issue? Is this a hardware problem? Help please.

Solution: To rule out any software related you will have to perform the following in order: restart, reset, set up phone as a new device.

Restart

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
  • Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
  • After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

Reset

  • Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

If the problem persists then back up your data then set up your phone as a new device.

  • Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
  • Follow the onscreen instruction to setup your phone as a new device.

If you still see the red spot then this may already be hardware related. You should bring your phone to the nearest Apple Store for checking.

iPhone 6 Plus Not Charging/ Does Not Turn On

Problem: I just got my phone 4 days ago and it’s been having problems charging up. Now it just jumped from 7 % to 1% and turned off so I tried to charge it up by the wall socket but it didn’t do anything , then I tried on my laptop ;when I use my laptop all it does is cuts on then off charge cuts on then cuts off .and it’s not charging.

Solution: Try checking the charging port of your phone and charger if there are any dirt or debris preset. If there are then clean it using a toothpick. You should also try using another USB cable with your charger or use a different wall charger when charging your phone.

If the issue persists you should bring your phone back to the store you bought it from and have it replaced or repaired.

iPhone 6 Plus Headphones Do Not Fit Audio Jack

Problem: i have checked everywhere but no one seems to share this issue. I have a new iPhone 6 Plus and NO pair of headphones fit!!! The Apple stock ones, bose, beats, etc. I appear to have the only one iphone that has this issue. I was expecting great service considering if I put this on YouTube I would get a bunch of hits. But instead I was put on hold while the operator was calling a nearby store and the call was dropped. Waited and no call back! Please tell me I am not the only One?!

Solution: Sometimes if the phone is new you would have to push a little bit harder to get the headphones inserted in the audio jack. Make sure that your phone does not have a case or protector when you try to insert the headphones.

If the headphones still do not fit then you should bring your phone to the nearest Apple Store.

iPhone 6 Stuck In Headphone Mode

Problem: Hello, I have a sound issue and don’t know what happened. Please help! My iPhone 6 Plus has no volume, It stays in headphone mode with I try to turn up volume with external controls. I have sound at all unless I have headphones connected. I have to use speaker to make phone calls. No sound with Music or Video apps either. Any suggestions on what has happened. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Solution: Try restarting your device s this may just be caused by a software glitch.

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
  • Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
  • After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

If the problem still persists then check the audio jack for any dirt or debris and clean it with a toothpick. You should also try inserting and taking the headphones out a couple of times.

If the issue still persists then bring your phone to the nearest Apple Store.

iPhone 6 Plus Loose Home Button

Problem: Hi, two days ago I bought a 64gb iPhone 6 plus and I’ve noticed that when i press the home button, I get different click noise each time. In addition, it feels like I can sort of move the home button around a little. My question is, is this a defect of some kind or are all the new iPhones like that.

Solution: The Home button of your phone should not move around. If you feel uncomfortable using it while it wobbles around then you can bring it back to the Apple Store. Some owners of this phone having the same issue have had their phones replaced.
