Taiwanese consumers are about to get a pleasant surprise from LG in the form of the new Optimus GJ, a water resistant phone from the prolific tech manufacturer. This phone is similar to the Japanese l-01E, and is essentially a water resistant version of the Optimus G. The device comes with IPX7 certification that allows for worriless immersion in up to three feet water for 30 minutes. It also comes fully loaded with a 4.7-inch, 1,280 x 720 True HD IPS display, a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro, a 13MP primary / 1.3MP front-facing camera setup, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, Android 4.1.2 and a 2,280mAh battery. It will retail for NT$17,990 ($600). The GJ will be a great phone for active users that love to be able to take pictures and video from the water while also streamlining their media needs into their phone. The phone becomes available next month.
