How to Manage Call Audio Routing Settings iPhone 14
This post will walk you through configuring an iOS 16 accessibility feature that routes phone calls and FaceTime calls on the iPhone 14 to an audio device. Here’s a quick guide to manage call audio routing settings on the Apple iPhone 14 series.
Make sure that your audio device is close to your iPhone so that you would still be able to attend to your calls immediately.
If you’re routing your calls to a hearing device or hearing aid, be sure not to remove your hearing aid from your ears because if you do, the audio routing from your hearing aid will automatically switch to your iPhone speaker.
You can also configure your iPhone to automatically answer phone calls after a certain period of time like 10 seconds or so. This way you won’t miss any important phone calls due to late response.
This feature can be accessed through the Accessibility settings, tagged among other Touch options. Just toggle to turn on the Auto-Answer Call switch then specify the time duration that you’d like it to instigate.
Difference between Call Audio Routing and Call Forwarding
Call Audio Routing is different from Call Forwarding feature but the main concept of how they work are somehow similar as both direct calls from the iPhone speaker to another audio destination.
The main difference is that with call audio routing, only the audio is routed to another audio device but the main call is transpiring in and processed by the iOS device.
Call Forwarding on the other hand, redirects or forwards the entire phone call to another phone number or device. Thus, the call is not transpiring on the iPhone.
And that’s how to access and manage the iPhone 14 call audio routing settings.
