iPhone 12 Mini Connected To Network But Has No Internet Connection

In this post, we will show you what to do if your iPhone 12 Mini is connected to the network but has no Internet connection. What you actually need to do about it is to rule out the possibility that neither your router or your iPhone has the problem. Continue reading to learn more about it.

Network-related issues such as no Internet connection coming from the Wi-Fi network your iPhone is connected to can be just a pretty minor issue. Most of the time, such a problem can be fixed without you doing anything, especially if it’s just a temporary problem with your router. However, there are also instances wherein you need to do some troubleshooting procedures to be able to fix it. So if you’re one of the users with a problem like this, then here’s what you should do:

First solution: Restart your Router and your iPhone

So basically, what you need to do first if your iPhone 12 Mini doesn’t have an Internet connection even if it’s connected to the network is to refresh the memories of both your router and your iPhone. You can do so by restarting both devices, and more often than not, it’s enough to fix a problem like this. So here’s how you do that:

  1. Unplug your modem or router from the wall outlet or simply disconnect the power cord from the main unit.
  2. Leave it without power for a minute or two.
  3. While waiting, quickly press and release the volume up, then do the same to the volume down.
  4. Immediately after releasing the volume down button, press and hold the side key for 10 seconds. This will trigger the iPhone to shut down and power back on.
  5. When the Apple logo shows, release the side key and wait until the device finishes the reboot.

Once your router starts to broadcast the signal, let your iPhone reconnect to it and continue using it normally while being observant enough to know if the Internet connection intermittently gets cut off.

Second solution: Reset all Network Settings on your iPhone

After you’ve refreshed the memories of your router and your iPhone and the problem continues to bug you, then you need to reset the network services of your iPhone. It’s possible that some of the wireless services keep crashing thus giving you connectivity-related issues. Resetting the network settings often fixes common connectivity issues, but it’s safe as far as your files and data are concerned. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Find and tap General.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and then touch Reset.
  4. Touch Reset Network Settings.
  5. If prompted, enter your security lock.
  6. Tap Reset to proceed with network settings reset.

After doing that, you will have to make your iPhone reconnect to the network. Once it’s connected, try to see if your Internet connection still continues to have issues.

Third solution: Factory Reset your iPhone

Prior to resetting your iPhone, you need to observe your other devices that are connected to the same network to see if they too have a problem like this. Because if they do, then it’s clear enough that the problem is with your router. However, if this problem just occurs to your iPhone, then a reset will fix it because most probably, it’s just a firmware-related issue.

Also, don’t forget to backup your important files and data before the reset as you may not be able to retrieve them once they’re deleted. When ready, follow these steps to reset your iPhone:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Find and tap General.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and then touch Reset.
  4. Tap Erase All Contents and Settings.
  5. Tap Erase Now.
  6. If prompted, enter your security lock.
  7. Tap Erase iPhone at the bottom of the screen.
  8. Tap Erase iPhone again to proceed with the reset.
  9. Enter your Apple ID password, and then touch Erase to proceed with the reset.

Once the reset is finished, set up your iPhone 12 Mini as a new device. During the set up, you will be prompted to connect to your network so you’ll be able to tell immediately if the problem is fixed or not.

And those are the things you need to do on your iPhone 12 Mini that’s connected to the Wi-Fi network but has no internet connection.
