iPhone 8 Keeps Dropping Wi-Fi Connection

Problem: Hi – I have iPhone 8. version 11.4.1. Only had it for 3 months.  In the last 2 days it keeps dropping my network. When I try to reconnect it just constantly tries to connect or if it eventually finds the router it wants me to key in the password and then when I do that I get the message unable to connect to network or incorrect password.I have tried turning it off and on. I’ve only once successfully tried forgetting the network and re-connecting again. I’ve even gone into my Router Control Panel and entered the Mac address into the access control list. Now I can’t connect at all.   Should I give up and just go down to my local Apple Store?

Solution: The best thing to do in this case is to check if the same issue occurs when you connect your phone to a different Wi-Fi network .This way you can isolate the problem if it is caused by an issue with the phone or the router. In case you don’t experience the same issue when connecting to a different Wi-Fi network then the problem is caused by your router. You will then need to troubleshoot this device.

In case the problem still occurs even when connecting the phone to a different Wi-Fi network then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Make sure that the phone is running on the latest software version.
  • Forget the Wi-Fi connection from your phone then connect to it again.
  • Restart your phone and the router.
  • Reset your Network Settings. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

iPhone 8 Connected to Wi-Fi Network But No Internet

Problem: My phone shows a strong connection to my home WiFi, but no applications will load. Some applications will show the “No internet connection” notification, however most of them simply show an endless loading symbol (Instagram, Twitter, Whatsapp, etc) on the top of the apps timeline as well as on the top of my phone next to the WiFi symbol. I’ve already done the following troubleshooting steps:

-restart the phone

-disable/enable WiFi

-forget the WiFi connection

-soft reset of the phone

-reset the network settings on the phone

-toggle WiFi assist on/off

-completely remove the iOS and redownload the new iOS version (11.4.1)

Occasionally, my phone will load applications, but other times, nothing will load despite the WiFi being connected.

This issue has only affected my phone, whereas every other device in my house is working fine. Please note, I have contacted my internet provider and they have already confirmed the issue is with my device, not the internet itself. Please help me!!!

Solution: Does the problem also occur when connecting the phone to a different Wi-Fi network? If it does then this problem  is already caused by an issue with the phone hardware. You will need to bring the phone to the nearest Apple Store and have it checked.

iPhone 8 keeps dropping Wi-Fi or Not Connecting To Wi-Fi Network

Problem: My phone is new to me and I have noticed that it has trouble connecting to known wifi locations, but that’s not all.  I’ve tried restarting the phone by holding sleep and home button and then sometimes I can’t even get to the settings page. I tap on it and it’s just a white screen that goes back to the home page after a few seconds. When I swipe up from the bottom to turn wifi on that way, it is a faded option where nothing happens when I tap on it.  It takes multiple restarts to get the wifi option back. I had my old phone (4S) with me when I went out today and it was able to detect multiple wifi networks that my new phone couldn’t even see…and then I had the same white screen problem when going to setting page.  When I do get it to connect, it randomly disconnects and then I can’t even find the network under ‘choose a network’. Then I restart phone and the whole things starts all over again with the white screen problem. I have the ask to join networks button set to on.  I have tried resetting network settings and this has not worked. I guess I’d like to know if this is something that can be fixed or if I should just get rid of this phone and try to find a new one that works. Right now it’s super frustrating!

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to restore the phone to its original factory condition. Set Up the phone as a new device then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will have to bring the phone to the Apple Store and have it checked.
