YouTube Not Working on iPhone 11 Pro? Here’s How to Fix It
If YouTube suddenly stopped playing videos on your iPhone 11 Pro, don’t panic. It’s usually a simple glitch — either with your connection, the app itself, or a minor bug after an iOS update. Most of the time, a few quick fixes will get YouTube running normally again.
Here’s how to troubleshoot and fix YouTube not working on your iPhone 11 Pro.
1. Check Your Internet Connection
Streaming videos requires a strong and stable connection. If YouTube won’t load or play, start here.
- Check Wi-Fi or mobile data status:
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi or Cellular and make sure you’re connected. - Toggle data off and back on:
If using mobile data, disable it for 5 seconds, then turn it back on. - Run a speed test:
Use Safari to visit fast.com or any speed test site to check your internet speed.
If your connection is slow or unstable, try switching networks or restarting your router.
2. Close YouTube and Force Restart Your iPhone
If the connection is fine but YouTube still won’t work, force close the app and restart the system.
How to do it:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause halfway.
- Swipe up on all app previews to close them.
- Now force restart:
- Quickly press and release Volume Up
- Quickly press and release Volume Down
- Then press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears
Open YouTube after the reboot and check if the issue is gone.
3. Uninstall and Reinstall YouTube
Sometimes the app itself is buggy or outdated. Removing and reinstalling it gives you a clean start with the latest version.
Steps:
- Find the YouTube app on your Home screen.
- Tap and hold the icon, then choose Remove App > Delete App.
- Confirm deletion.
- Open the App Store, search for YouTube, and tap Install.
- Once installed, open the app and sign in.
This clears out corrupted data and ensures you’re running the latest build.
4. Factory Reset (Only If Necessary)
If none of the above works, and other apps are also acting up, there may be a system glitch. A factory reset can resolve persistent bugs — but back up your data first.
To factory reset:
- Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone.
- Tap Erase All Content and Settings.
- Tap Continue, then enter your passcode.
- Enter your Apple ID password when prompted.
- Wait for your iPhone to reset and reboot.
Afterward, set it up as new and reinstall the YouTube app.
Most of the time, simply refreshing the app or restarting the device fixes the issue. But if it persists, reinstalling YouTube or updating iOS should do the trick.
