How to Fix Wi-Fi Issues on iPhone X (Won’t Toggle On or No Internet)

If your iPhone X is having trouble with Wi-Fi, such as not being able to toggle the Wi-Fi button on or connecting but not having internet access, you’re not alone. Many users have encountered similar issues, and these can often be resolved with the right troubleshooting steps.

Solution 1: Reset Network Settings

Sometimes network settings can become misconfigured, causing issues with Wi-Fi functionality. To reset all network settings back to their defaults:

  1. Go to Settings > General > Reset.
  2. Tap Reset Network Settings.
  3. Enter your device password if prompted and confirm the action.

After resetting, check if the issue is resolved.

Solution 2: Reset All Settings

If resetting the network settings doesn’t help, try resetting all settings on your iPhone X. This restores everything, such as display and sound settings, to their default configurations without erasing your data.

  1. Open Settings > General > Reset.
  2. Tap Reset All Settings.
  3. Enter your passcode and confirm the reset.

Your iPhone will reboot, and you can check if Wi-Fi is functioning properly afterward.

Solution 3: Perform a Factory Reset

If Wi-Fi issues persist, you may need to perform a factory reset. Be aware that this will erase all data on your device, so ensure that your data is backed up before proceeding.

  1. Go to Settings > General > Reset.
  2. Tap Erase All Content and Settings.
  3. Enter your passcode and confirm the reset.

Once the reset is complete, set up your iPhone as new (don’t restore from backup) and check if Wi-Fi works.

Solution 4: Check Your Apps

If Wi-Fi works after the factory reset, but the problem reappears when you install apps, one of your apps could be the culprit. To isolate the problematic app, install apps one by one and test the Wi-Fi functionality after each installation.

Solution 5: DFU Mode Restore

If the issue persists, you may need to restore your iPhone using DFU (Device Firmware Update) mode. This restores the iPhone’s firmware and software, addressing deep system issues.

  1. Connect your iPhone to a computer with iTunes open.
  2. Turn off your iPhone.
  3. Press and hold the Side button for 3 seconds, then press and hold the Volume Down button while still holding the Side button.
  4. After 10 seconds, release the Side button but keep holding the Volume Down button for 5 more seconds.
  5. If the screen remains black, iTunes will detect the iPhone and allow you to restore it.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the restore.

Solution 6: Contact Apple Support

If none of these solutions resolve your Wi-Fi issues, or if you’ve already tried them, it might be a hardware issue. At this point, you should contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store to have your device checked by a technician.
