iPad Pro Alarm Not Working? Here’s How to Fix It

If your iPad Pro alarm isn’t going off or doesn’t make a sound, that’s more than just annoying—it can throw off your entire schedule. Whether you’re using it to wake up, remind you of appointments, or manage daily tasks, a broken alarm is a problem you’ll want to fix fast.

Here’s how to troubleshoot and fix an iPad Pro alarm that isn’t working:

1. Check the Volume and Sound Settings

Sometimes it’s just the volume that’s too low—or muted entirely.

  • Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics.
  • Under Ringers & Alerts, drag the slider to increase volume.
  • Make sure Change with Buttons is turned off so volume changes don’t affect alarms.
  • Also check your alarm sound in the Clock app:
    • Open Clock > Alarm > Edit, tap the alarm, then tap Sound.
    • Make sure it’s not set to None.

2. Delete Existing Alarms and Set Up a New One

A stuck or corrupted alarm might not go off at all.

  • Open the Clock app.
  • Tap Alarm, then Edit in the top-left.
  • Tap the red minus icon next to each alarm, then tap Delete.
  • Once all alarms are cleared, restart your iPad.
  • Open the Clock app and tap + to create a fresh alarm.
  • Choose your time, sound, and tap Save.

3. Remove Third-Party Alarm Apps

Some third-party alarm apps can interfere with the built-in alarm system.

  • Tap and hold the third-party app icon.
  • Tap Remove App > Delete App.
  • Restart your iPad after deleting it.

Then try using the native Clock app again to set your alarm.

4. Reset All Settings

If the alarm still isn’t working, some system settings may be interfering.

Note: This won’t delete your data, but it will erase saved Wi-Fi networks and preferences.

  • Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset All Settings.
  • Enter your passcode and confirm.

After rebooting, reconfigure your alarm and test it again.

5. Update iPadOS

A software bug could be preventing your alarms from working.

  • Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
  • If an update is available, tap Download and Install.
  • Restart your iPad after updating.

6. Restore Your iPad (Last Resort)

If nothing else works, restoring your iPad might help—but back up your data first.

  • Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Erase All Content and Settings.
  • Enter your passcode and follow the prompts.
  • After the reset, set up your iPad as new and test the alarm before restoring any backups.

You can also restore via iTunes or Finder using recovery mode or DFU mode if needed.
