1.Restart Mac: Restarting or other term is Rebooting your Mac basically means that you’re trying to clear the memory of your computer for a fresh start. Doing this closes all the programs running and also prompts to ask to save any files that you are working on. You Mac Computer will reboot and restart once you’ve saved your files if there are any. 

There are three (3) ways to restart your Mac: First, long press the Power Button, a dialog will appear. Choose and click the Restart button. Second, click on the Apple Key located at the upper left portion of the screen then click Restart. And lastly, press on the Control+Command+Eject buttons (In some Mac Models, you can use Control+Command+Power button).

2. Update Apps: Make sure to check that all your apps are up to date as it might be one of the reasons why your Mac is performing a bit slow. And since with macOS Catalina, all 32-bit apps will now be replaced with a 64-bit app. Which means those apps with 32-bit is no longer useful. Updating your apps that would include optimizations for Catalina can somehow improve the performance of your device. Check App Store for any updates available for your apps or you can try to check at the app’s website if there are any.

3. Force Quit App: if restarting your Mac still doesn’t help with the performance issue, you may want to try to force-quit apps that are taking up a lot of your RAM (Random Access Memory). To force-quit an app on your Mac, follow the steps below:

Step1: Locate and click the “Finder”  icon to go to the Finder window on your Mac

Step 2: Click on “Applications” to see the applications running on your Mac. 

Step 3: Click on the  “Utilities” folder.

Step 4:  Click on “Activity Monitor” to access running application

Step 5: Choose from the running app to force quit. Double Click on that App and click on Quit. 

4. Clear Cache: Mac users are aware that your OS stores a lot of caches files on your computer. Basically a cache files are temporary files that are created by browsers, and apps so to help your Mac device perform faster. But sometimes the cache files get corrupted due to software updates and may cause problems with performance on your Mac. is it recommended to clear cache from time to time. To delete and clear cache, simply follow these steps:

Step 1: Open the “Finder” window, then select “Go” located at the upper left portion.

Step 2: Click on “Go to Folder”

Step 3: Type in /Library/Caches, click on “Go”

Step 4: Remove or Delete the data that can be found in every folder.
