Netflix Not Working on iPhone 11 Pro Max? Here’s How to Fix It

If Netflix isn’t working on your iPhone 11 Pro Max, it can be super frustrating—especially when you’re just trying to stream your favorite show. Whether it’s a loading issue, black screen, error message, or app crash, there are several ways to get Netflix up and running again.

Try these proven fixes to troubleshoot Netflix problems on your iPhone.

1. Reset Netflix in Settings and Force Close the App

Netflix stores temporary data that can sometimes cause conflicts.

To reset the app:

  • Go to Settings > Netflix.
  • Toggle Reset ON.
  • Swipe up to return to the Home screen.

Then force close the app:

  • Swipe up from the bottom and pause to access the app switcher.
  • Find Netflix, then swipe it up to fully close it.

Relaunch Netflix and try streaming again.

2. Restart Your iPhone

Restarting clears system memory and temporary glitches that might be affecting Netflix.

To restart your iPhone 11 Pro Max:

  • Press and hold the Side button + Volume Up.
  • When the power slider appears, drag it to turn off the phone.
  • After 30 seconds, press the Side button again until the Apple logo appears.

3. Refresh Your Wi-Fi or Network Connection

A poor connection is one of the most common reasons Netflix won’t work.

Try toggling Wi-Fi:

  • Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  • Turn it off, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

Or use Airplane Mode reset:

  • Go to Settings > Airplane Mode, turn it on.
  • Restart your iPhone.
  • Go back and turn Airplane Mode off.

Still no luck? Forget and reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  • Tap the “i” next to your network, then tap Forget This Network.
  • Reconnect by entering your Wi-Fi password again.

4. Update the Netflix App

If you’re running an outdated version, it might be incompatible with iOS 13 or have bugs.

To update Netflix:

  • Open the App Store.
  • Tap your profile icon in the top-right.
  • Scroll to Available Updates.
  • Tap Update next to Netflix (or Update All).

Restart your iPhone after updating.

5. Check Content Restrictions

iOS screen time or app restrictions may block Netflix from running properly.

To disable them:

  • Go to Settings > Screen Time.
  • Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions.
  • Enter your Screen Time passcode if prompted.
  • Toggle off Content & Privacy Restrictions.

If Netflix works with restrictions off, adjust the allowed apps and content filters.

6. Delete and Reinstall Netflix

If nothing else works, the app might be corrupted. Reinstalling gives you a clean copy.

To uninstall Netflix:

  • Long-press the Netflix app icon until a menu pops up.
  • Tap Remove App > Delete App.

To reinstall:

  • Go to the App Store and search for Netflix.
  • Tap Get to download it again.

Login and test if it works now.

Still Not Working?

  • Disable VPNs or proxies if you’re using any—they can block Netflix.
  • Check Netflix’s server status at help.netflix.com or services like Downdetector.
  • Contact Netflix Support if none of the above helps—they may need to reset or verify your account or region.
