Maybe you’re planning an exciting vacation in the big city, or you’re headed there for business or work. Well, you might want to consider taking advantage of Los Angeles Subway Map app rapid transit system because, as you already know, traffic is a nightmare in the city of Angels.
Unfortunately, it isn’t always easy to access information in regards to the Subway Map routes, especially when it comes to finding estimated arrival times, but as it seems with everything, there’s an app for that! If you follow along below, we’ll show you the best options for navigating the Los Angeles mass transit system.
Best Los Angeles Subway Map App for iPhone
1. Los Angeles Metro
Traditionally, Subway Map apps and transit applications have killed data plans, largely because of the real time tracking; however, that’s why you’ll want to keep Los Angeles Metro on your phone. This one is an offline Subway Map app that will not eat up your data plan. It loads extremely quickly, so you can get the information that you need in a jiffy. The built-in journey tracker is even able to tell you your fastest route, whether you’re going by train, subway, bus, car, bike, etc. There’s even a Location Tracker to show you nearby stations in the event that you don’t know where the nearest is.

3. Citymapper
And coming in second place, we have Citymapper, a personal favorite of ours here at The Droid Guy. It has a beautiful user interface that is easy to navigate, something that you don’t normally see in transit and Subway map apps like this. Citymapper will show you information for Los Angeles, as well as the surrounding metro area. Not only that, but you can use the app for any other major city or capital. Citymapper will even show you downloadable subway and bus maps for wherever you are (in supported cities). Citymapper has all the usual transit features like bus, subway and train routes and real time departure and arrival times as well. There’s even ride sharing features for bikes, mopeds, and scooters. Citymapper is constantly updated, so you’ll always have all of the latest transit information at your fingertips.

4. Transit
And in first place, we have Transit. Transit is without a doubt an essential that should be on any smartphone, not only because of the versatility of working in most major cities, but it’s clean user interface. Transit is similar to Citymapper in a lot of ways — primarily in design — you get a premium and top user experience with a modern graphical user interface. That said, the actual highlight to Transit is its versatility — Transit supports many more cities across the world, such as in the Asian regions, whereas Citymapper does not. Transit will put subway and bus arrival times at planned routes right at your fingertips. You’ll be able to see any delays, as well as the service status of the transit system that you’re using.

5. Los Angeles – Bus Rail Metro and Street View Maps
And coming in as our first contender, we have Los Angeles which decidedly sits in fifth place. This one is purely a map app, giving you information on all of the different Los Angeles rail ways, their routes, bus stations and their routes, and so on. The maps can be viewed from different perspectives, even allowing you to limit the map views to, say, Downtown Los Angeles.
Best Los Angeles Subway Map App for iPhone Verdict
As you can see, there are a lot of excellent applications for navigating the complex transit system that is Los Angeles. Any one of these applications will not only give you a map of the Subway routes, but also put you in touch with location and arrival information that you would have a hard time accessing elsewhere. However, we do have to say, Transit and Citymapper are our two top favorites, due in large part to a clean design and the versatility of working in most major cities.
