Problem #1: What to do if your iPhone 8 screen keeps blacking out, crashing
Dear Sir / Madam , Its Sergen From Turkey. 8 Months Ago When I was In USA I bought an Iphone 8 Plus 64 GB From Philadelphia. Its really Unique to use I’ m in love with iphone no doubt with that. But After IOS 11.4 Has been launched my phone started to crash. I mean black screen coming up and its not turning on until next 2-3 days. Then suddenly screen is appearing. I’m using my phone like 4-5 hours again the some issue coming up. I’ve tried many ways to fix it but every time the same thing came through. I thought its maybe because of IOS 11.4 so decided to join Apple’s Beta Software program and Upgraded my phone Beta version of IOS 12. But Problem appeared again. I don’t know What To do really, Having really hard time with this phone. I Called apple genius Bar which is working in Turkey to get Apple Support they tried to describe Restore from iTunes yes it helped actually but then the phone get stuck again. Also I Tried to send to do Apple but the Turkish Apple Customer Service said that We Can’t Support Technical Service for this model. We can provide support only for A1987. So I don’t know What to do , The phone made me Crazy. Trying to find any solution but there is nothing to fix that. Please show me way to handle that Please.
Solution: Beta versions of apps and iOS are far less stable and more buggy than final releases so joining iOS beta program is not really a good move, especially since you’re having a major issue. We suggest that you revert back to 11.4 version and see if that will make any difference. Here’s how to do that:
- Open Settings app.
- Tap on General.
- Tap Profile & Device Management. Tap Profiles.
- Tap the iOS Beta Software Profile that appears.
- Afterwards, Tap Delete Profile to delete Beta Software Profile.
After doing the steps above, your phone will no longer be able to receive new updates for Beta versions.
Now that you’ve opted out of Beta version, you want to restore the previous iOS version. Follow the steps below:
- Connect your iPhone 8 to iTunes on your computer via a USB cable.
- Then, press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
- Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
- Then, press and hold the Side button until you see the recovery-mode screen.
- Once iTunes gives you options to restore or update your iOS device, select Restore. This will allow you to restore the device to its factory defaults.
- Once completed, sign in with your Apple ID from iTunes to activate your device.
- Then, restore all of your information from a previous backup.
- Tap on Continue.
- Restart your iPhone 8 and check for the problem.
If the issue returns, talk to your local Apple store and arrange a repair or replacement.
Problem #2: iPhone 8 won’t turn on after getting wet
Hi, My phone was working fine before 2 days and suddenly it turned off and now it’s not getting on. I tried almost function to do a hard reset. and still it not getting on. i still remember it had full charged. I went to Apple care service center they refused to repair it as they are saying liquid damage or motherboard issue so they can’t repair it. i have checked by adding another display and changing battery. But nothing happened unable to getting it on again. I remember 1 month back i tried water proof test.I went for swimming with this phone to record some footage after that phone was working fine. I thought it’s water proof so we can do swimming with this phone. So i kindly request you to help me out in this. It just 1.1 year old phone. I would wait for your replay.
Solution: The iPhone 8 is not water proof. It is dust and water resistant (up to 1m for 30 mins). While it may be able to handle occasional splashes or rain exposure, users are strongly discouraged to swim with it. The extra pressure under water will most likely overwhelm the phone’s water resistance protection. If the phone stopped working after using it underwater, then it must be water damaged. Unfortunately, there’s no software solutions if the motherboard has been permanently damaged by liquid. Since Apple will no longer repair the phone for you, we suggest that you either get a new phone (highly recommended), or risk wasting your money for a unguaranteed motherboard repair.
Problem #3: iPhone 8 keeps overheating after repair
I have dropped my IPhone 8 Plus more than once. I broke the screen. I had someone other than Apple fix the screen. The camera and sensor were changed after the screen was fixed. The latest problem has my phone overheating, shutting down the screen, refusing to reopen or let me access anything when it goes dark. After a while it responds again. I have tried the forced restart. That doesn’t work either. Sometimes it acts like something is loose inside but I can’t hear anything like that. Right now my phone has only been on for maybe 30 minutes and the heat feels uncomfortable to my fingers. The person who fixed it had another look and said everything appeared fine , except for how hot it gets.
Solution: Overheating can be caused either by bad software or hardware malfunction. If this issue started after an independent technician fixed the phone, then there must be an unaddressed hardware malfunction, or the motherboard may have simply become way too messed up. Like water damage, dropping your phone almost always affects the motherboard for good. We suggest that you bring the phone again to the technician that fixed it and see if they can repair it properly. Otherwise, you’re out of luck and you’ll just have to accept the fact that your iPhone 8 has become a paperweight.
