Time Needed : 5 minutes
Performing the following will make you access and change the iOS settings where you can change or specify a different storage directory for all downloaded files in Safari. These steps are likewise applicable to other iOS devices that are running the same iOS version as that of the iPhone SE 2020.
- When ready, go to your iPhone's Home screen and then tap the Settings icon.
Doing so will launch the main settings menu that highlights the main iOS features and settings to configure.
- Scroll up or down to view more items. Then, locate and tap Safari.
The Safari menu opens next.
Here, you will see relevant options and features you can turn on and off accordingly.
- Scroll down until you get to the General section. Then, tap Downloads to proceed.
On the next screen you will see the current directory where downloaded files from Safari are stored on.
Again, the storage location is set to iCloud Drive by default. Thus, the iCloud Drive has a checkmark next to it.

Another window opens next. Here you will see more specific storage or location options to choose from.

After making a selection, tap Done.
The recent changes will then be applied.

- Apple iPhone SE 2020
You can also configure the browser to automatically delete downloaded files after a specific period.
To do so, simply tap the option to Remove Download List iTems in the Downloads menu and then tap on your preferred option.
This is one way to manage and optimize your iPhone storage.
