If your iPad is having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi, dropping Bluetooth connections, or struggling with mobile data, one of the most effective fixes is a network settings reset. This clears out all saved networks and restores your iPad’s network features to their default state — no fuss, no data loss.
Here’s how to do it and what you should expect after.
How to Reset Network Settings on iPad
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap General.
- Scroll down and select Transfer or Reset iPad.
- Tap Reset.
- Choose Reset Network Settings.
- Enter your passcode if prompted.
- Tap Reset again to confirm.
Your iPad will restart and all network settings will be reset.
What Happens After a Network Reset
- Wi-Fi: All saved Wi-Fi networks and passwords are erased.
- Bluetooth: Any paired Bluetooth devices will be forgotten.
- VPN & APN settings: These will also be wiped and returned to default.
- Cellular settings: If you have an iPad with mobile data, your SIM settings may be refreshed (but not erased).
After the reset, you’ll need to reconnect to Wi-Fi and re-pair your Bluetooth accessories.
