This post will walk you through modifying the email previews on the new iPhone’s built-in email application. Read on to learn how to access and manage email previews on the Apple iPhone SE 2020 Mail app.
iOS 13 Mail App Previews
By default, the Mail app displays two lines of text for every email in your mailbox lists or inbox. Nonetheless, you can configure the app to view more lines of text. Doing so will let you preview an email content even without opening or showing the entire email itself.
The number of preview lines allows you to select between more text per message or squeezing in more messages.
In iOS 13 devices, email previews in the Mail app can be previewed in up to five lines. If you’re wondering how to configure these settings on your iPhone SE 2020, then feel free to use this demo as a personal reference.
Here’s how to modify the Mail app’s email previews on the recently rolled out iOS smartphone.
Easy Steps to Access and Manage Email Previews on the iPhone SE 2020 Mail app
Time Needed : 5 minutes
The following are actual steps carried out on the iPhone SE 2020. While these steps can likewise be applied on other iOS devices running the same iOS version as the new iPhone SE, actual screen and menu items may still vary depending on the device’s model and service provider.
- To get started, go to your phone's Home screen. Then, tap the Settings app icon to launch and access the main settings menu.
A new screen opens with a list of all basic and advanced iOS features you can turn on or off accordingly.
- Scroll down and then tap Mail to proceed.
The Mail app settings will line up on the next display.
- Navigate to the Message list section and then tap Preview.
Doing so will pull up the Mail app's preview settings.
Here, you can see all available preview options with 2 lines as the default selection.
- To change this, simply tap to select your preferred preview line.
Among other options include 1 line, 3 lines, 4 lines, and 5 lines.
If you don't want to see any email preview at all, just select None. Otherwise, tap to select any from the given options.
You can get to your inbox to see how the email previews appear after applying the changes and then get back to the Mail app's preview settings if you wish to select other preview lines.
- Simply press the Home button to return to the main screen and then tap Mail to access inbox or mail lists.
The email previews in your inbox will then appear based on the recently applied preview line selection.
Again, you can change it by heading back to the Mail app's preview settings and then select another preview line. Then, access the inbox again to view the recent changes.
Just repeat the same steps until you achieve the email preview that you prefer to utilize.
- iOS 13.6
- Apple iPhone SE 2020
And that’s how you do it!
Changing the length of email previews is usually deemed imperative if you’re getting a lot of emails. The longer the previews are, the more you’ll get to learn what messages are about without having to open each of them.
Other Options to Customize Emails in iOS 13 Mail
There is also a setting in the Mail app where you can configure to show the whole conversation. To do this, you will need to access the Settings-> Mail menu and then turn on the switch next to Organize by Thread.
With this option enabled, individual emails are shown in chronological order or tag under the same conversation.
