Problem: iPhone XS Facebook app not showing push notifications

Hello, I don’t even know if you can help me? I came across this site searching for an answer but I’m still having no luck. I have an iPhone 7+ with all the latest updates. I have having problems with the Facebook app, I am not getting any push notifications, I have tried everything I can find over the internet, reset phone to factory settings, deleted fb, deactivated fb account, been through settings on phone and fb, reset all settings, updated email address on fb, but I’m still not getting push notifications. I have figured out this is account specific as I have logged into another account and it works just fine, although the app seems to be different as it does not have all the icons at the bottom even though it’s the same app I am using the same app but just a different account. I have also logged into my account on an iPad and it still doesn’t show notifications but does on another account. This has been happening for about 8 weeks now. I really hope someone can help me. Thank you Sarah Parr

Solution: If you’re positive that your other Facebook account shows notifications just the way you want it to in the same app in the same iPhone, then you need to check another set of notifications settings. These settings is account-specific. Every Facebook account has its own notification settings depending on how its user wants it to work. If you still haven’t checked this, kindly follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Facebook app in your iPhone (make sure you’re logged in to your Facebook account in question).
  2. At the bottom right, tap More settings icon (three horizontal lines).
  3. Scroll down and tap Settings & Privacy.
  4. Tap Notification Settings.
  5. Under Where you receive notifications section, tap on Push.
  6. Make sure to turn off Mute Push Notifications. If this option is enabled, you will NOT receive push notifications at all.
  7. Go back to Notification Settings.
  8. Make sure to customize the notifications you want to receive for items such as Apps, Activity About You, Birthdays, etc.
