Problem #1: How to fix iPhone X wifi issues: keeps disconnecting from wifi networks

My iphone x will not stay or join wifi by itself? Even though in my settings I keep selecting the option for it to automatically join known networks, even my own WiFi router in my home. Once I manually turn it back on, again, I also have to select manually for it to join other networks. Then an hour or so later, I have no WiFi again. I go back to settings, select my house’s WiFi, and also select again for it to join networks. Works for another hour and back to no wifi and also the ability to join networks is gone again too. So frustrating.

Solution: There may be an incorrect network configuration, settings bug, or an operating system glitch causing the issue. Below are the things that you can try:

Force reboot

Minor bugs are often fixed by simply restarting a device. We suggest that you clear the phone’s memory and refresh the system by doing a forced reboot. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
  2. Then press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
  3. Finally, press and hold the Side (Power) button until you see the Apple logo.

Your device will then power cycle or restart. Observe your phone for a few hours to see how wifi will work.

Reset network settings

A lot of network issues are fixed by resetting an iPhone’s network settings. That’s because many of such issues are due to corrupted or incorrect network settings. To return all network settings to defaults, you’ll have to do the steps below:

  1. Tap Settings to open the app.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap Reset.
  4. Select the option to Reset Network Settings.
  5. If prompted, enter the device password.
  6. Confirm action.

Reset all settings

When you reset all settings on your iPhone, all customized settings are restored to default values. Personal data including sound settings, display settings, network settings, and other custom settings won’t be affected though. Follow these steps to reset all settings on your new iPhone:

  1. Tap Settings from the Home screen.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap Reset.
  4. Tap Reset All Settings.
  5. If prompted, enter the correct passcode for your device.
  6. Tap the option to Reset All Settings to confirm action.

Wait for a few minutes until the reset and reboot processes are finished.

Restoring your iPhone to default settings also helps in fixing device issues like random crashes, abnormal reboots, and apps freezing or lags.

Factory reset

Should nothing change after doing the troubleshooting steps above, consider wiping the phone and returning all its software information to defaults. Before you do so, be sure to back your files up via iTunes or to the cloud.

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap Reset.
  4. Select the option to Erase All Content and Settings.
  5. If prompted, enter the correct passcode for your device to continue.
  6. Tap the option to confirm action.
  7. Set the phone as a new device.

Problem #2: What to do if iPhone X Snapchat app won’t load

About 2 hours ago I upgraded my iPhone 7 to the iPhone X. I have been downloading apps like Facebook, Instagram, etc with no issues. I downloaded Snapchat and when I type in my username then password, then hit login, the app turns black and then crashes. Prior to my phone upgrade I had not been up to date on the latest iOS software or Snapchat update. I updated my phone, the app, turned my phone off, deleted the app and redownloaded it, turned off my WiFi and then turned it back on again with no luck. Please let me know if you can help.

Solution: Some Snapchat users in the past encountered the issue similar to what you’re experiencing but it due to a bug that was already fixed by the app’s developers long time ago. Since you’ve already updated your own Snapchat app before contacting us, the problem must be something that’s beyond your ability to fix. At this time, there’s no known bug that might have caused this issue (at least something that we are aware of). We suggest that you contact Snapchat developer team so they can advise you on what you can try.

Problem #3: iPhone X Facebook app keeps crashing

Facebook keeps crashing, I have done all the steps even including a factory reset. I just got a new iPhone X and it still doing the same thing on the new phone so I know it’s not the phone software. Please help I think some of the problem is when I go back to reinstall Facebook and post it from the cloud which is the bad version of Facebook. how do I install Facebook without going from the cloud ?

Solution: Facebook and some of its relatives (Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Whatsapp) have been experiencing issues for the past few weeks. Basically, what’s happening is that some apps just crashes at random without apparent reason. We don’t think the issue is still occuring at the time of this writing (probably it was already patched by Facebook) so make sure to install Facebook and its related apps from the App Store.

If you’re trying to restore the Facebook app from your iCloud background, we recommend that you delete it from the phone and redownload it from the App Store. This should help you see to it that you reinstall the most recent version of the said app.

Problem #4: What to do if iPhone X won’t detect a SIM card

Hello I have an issue with my iPhone X. I bought it 2 weeks ago and since 2 days ago it won’t detect my SIM card. I tried all the fixes you suggested in your article. I’m on iOS 11, my other iPhone X that is on the same firmware is working normal and I can’t return it and I cannot activate it any more because it says that I have to install a SIM card but it is installed. my iTunes will not activate it and says that it cannot be activated because there is no SIM card please help me Thanks for help.

Solution: If your iPhone X is not detecting a known working SIM card, that can mean that its SIM card slot is damaged, or that there’s an unknown software or hardware issue preventing the system from reading the card. Make sure to factory reset the phone first and see if the phone will recognize the SIM.

To factory reset your iPhone X:

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap Reset.
  4. Select the option to Erase All Content and Settings.
  5. If prompted, enter the correct passcode for your device to continue.
  6. Tap the option to confirm action.
  7. Set the phone as a new device and check if it detects the SIM card.

If the problem returns, let Apple repair or replace the device.
