iPhone X Connected To Wi-Fi Network But Has No Internet

Just because your iPhone X is connected to a Wi-Fi network doesn’t mean it has an Internet connection. There are times when an issue occurs in your router that you would lose connectivity. That seems to be the problem with some of the owners of the iPhone X who also have recently updated their devices to iOS 13.6.

If you’re one of the users whose iPhone is connected to the network but doesn’t get an Internet connection, here are quick ways you can try to see if the problem gets fixed.

First solution: Restart your iPhone and your router

This is probably the easiest thing you can do, and it’s actually the most effective. If there’s a minor problem with your iPhone, then restarting it would often fix it. The same goes if it’s your router that has issues. So try doing this:

  1. Unplug your modem or router from the wall outlet or simply disconnect the power cord from the main unit.
  2. Leave it without power for a minute or two.
  3. While waiting, quickly press and release the volume up, then do the same to the volume down.
  4. Immediately after releasing the volume down button, press and hold the side key for 10 seconds. This will trigger the iPhone to shut down and power back on.
  5. When the Apple logo shows, release the side key and wait until the device finishes the reboot.
  6. Now plug the power cord of your network device back into the wall outlet, or reconnect the cord to the main unit.

Wait for the device to become online and your iPhone to finish rebooting, and then reconnect to the network.

If your iPhone X is still not able to get a good connection through your network but your other devices can, then move on to the next solution.

Second solution: Reset the network settings of your iPhone

If your other devices are connected to the Internet through the same network, then it’s clear that the problem isn’t with your network device but with your iPhone. The next thing you have to do is to reset its network settings as some of its network services might have issues. Here’s how you do it:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Find and tap General.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and tap Reset.
  4. Touch Reset Network Settings.
  5. If prompted, enter your security lock.
  6. Tap Reset to proceed with network settings reset.

Once the iPhone has finished rebooting, try to reconnect to the network and see if the problem is fixed. If not, then you have no other choice but to do the next solution.

Third solution: Factory reset your iPhone

As long as the problem is with the software, a factory reset should be able to fix this problem for you. But take time creating a backup of your important files as they will be deleted during the process. Whenever you’re ready, follow these steps to reset your iPhone X.

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Find and tap General.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and then touch Reset.
  4. Tap Erase All Contents and Settings.
  5. Tap Erase Now.
  6. If prompted, enter your security lock.
  7. Tap Erase iPhone at the bottom of the screen.
  8. Tap Erase iPhone again to proceed with the reset.
  9. Enter your Apple ID password, and then touch Erase to proceed with the reset.

Once the reset is finished, you will have to set up your iPhone and it’s during that process that you would know if the problem is fixed or not. If you still can’t connect to the internet after this, then it’s time that you had the iPhone checked.

I hope that this simple troubleshooting guide can help you.
