iPhone 7 Plus Camera Stopped Working

Problem: My iPhone 7 plus camera stopped working over a week ago and now it is getting really hot around the camera and my battery is draining at an alarming rate. In a matter of a minute while talking on the phone, the battery dropped from 25% to 7%. Additionally, I charge my phone while I am sleeping, and when I unplugged it this morning it was 100%, but in less than an hour of not doing much, the battery is already down to 50%. Any suggestions for getting things back to normal?

Solution: If the camera is not working and it is getting hot then there could be a shorted circuit in the camera module. If the phone has a shorted circuit then the affected part will usually heat up. As long as the battery of your phone has power then this will be drained by the shorted circuit. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to the nearest Apple Store and have it checked.

iPhone 7 Plus will Not Boot If Front Camera Is Connected

Problem: After a screen replacement whenever I connect the front camera the phone will not boot up for around 5 minutes and then when it does finally boot up it displays a message saying my home button needs services and the home button won’t function? I have already tried a new front camera.

Solution: Make sure that you are still using the original home/touch ID sensor of the phone. You should also check the cable connection of the home sensor and make sure that it is not damaged. If the cable is damaged then you will need to bring the phone to the nearest Apple Store and have it repaired.
