What To Do If iPhone 12 Won’t Pair With Bluetooth Headset or Speaker

If you’re one of them, here’s what you should do: 

First solution: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled

First off, make sure that the Bluetooth service on your iPhone is enabled, and that your Bluetooth speaker or headset is in pairing mode. Most of the time, you don’t even have to do anything, your devices will simply reconnect by themselves if you’ve already paired them before. 

1. On your iPhone, pull down the control center. 
2. Tap the Bluetooth icon to enable it. 
3. However, if it’s already enabled, try disabling it for a few seconds, and then enable it back. 

If you’ve already paired both devices before, most of the time, they’ll reconnect automatically, but if not, then move on to the next solution. 

Second solution: Restart your devices

If the first solution fails, then the next thing you have to do is to restart your devices. This will refresh your devices’ memory, and probably be able to fix the problem. 

1. So on your iPhone, quickly press and release the Volume Up button and then the Volume Down button. 
2. Immediately after that, press and hold the Power key for 10 seconds. This will trigger your iPhone to shut down and power back up. 
3. When the logo shows, release the power key. 
4. While waiting for your iPhone, restart your Bluetooth headset as well, and put it in pairing mode. 

Once your devices have finished rebooting, try pairing them once again. 

Third solution: Delete Bluetooth connection and reconnect

More often than not, the first two solutions are enough to fix the problem. However, if your devices are still not able to pair with each other, then you have to re-establish the connection between them, most especially if they’ve already been paired before. Here’s how you do it: 

1. Launch the Settings app on your iPhone. 
2. Tap Bluetooth. 
3. Tap the Info icon next to your Bluetooth device. 
4. Tap Forget this device, and tap Forget Device at the bottom of the screen to confirm.
5. Disable Bluetooth for a few seconds, and then enable it back. 
6. Now put your Bluetooth headset in pairing mode, and try to pair it with your iPhone. 

This procedure often fixes issues like this, especially if you’re dealing with newer devices. However, if this doesn’t fix the problem either, then move on to the next solution. 

Fourth solution: Reset the Network settings

If for some reason your iPhone and your Bluetooth headset or speaker still won’t pair even after doing the previous solutions. Then it’s time to reset all the network services on your device. It’s possible that the problem is caused by one of the services that crashed or stopped working. Here’s how it’s done: 

1. From the Home screen, tap Settings. 
2. Tap General. 
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and then touch Reset. 
4. Touch Reset Network Settings. 
5. If prompted, enter your security lock. 
6. Tap Reset Network Settings at the bottom of the screen. 

After the reboot, the problem should already be fixed. So feel free to pair your iPhone 12 and your Bluetooth headset.
