iOS 14 Screenshots
Many people are touched by the old proverbial phrase that goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. In fact, posting photos is now a trend in leading social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. And with the presence of mobile devices, picture posting and sharing is already becoming a global fetish.
Thanks to modern smartphones, sharing moments from your favorite clips, game stats, and social network convos has never been this simple. All you have to do is capture the screen or take a screenshot of your screen, do a little edits and there you get a picture all set for social media posting and sharing.
There are different methods to take a screenshot in smartphones. You can use third-party apps that are programmed to capture screens or use the built-in screenshot commands on your device.
Taking a screenshot on an iPhone is relatively easy as it only takes a simultaneous press on two hardware keys or buttons on the phone.
If you’re new to the iOS smartphones and wondering how to take a screenshot on your recently procured iPhone 12, I’ve laid out a simple demo for you to follow.
Here’s how to take a screenshot on the iPhone 12 using the built-in controls.
Easy Steps to Take a Screenshot on theiPhone 12
The buttons to press when taking a screenshot on an iPhone may differ between device models. On iPhone models with Face ID, screen captures are carried out with the Side button and Volume Up button. On iPhone models with the Touch ID and Side button, the Side and Home buttons are used to take a screenshot. On iPhone models with Touch ID and Top button, screenshots are taken using the Home and Top buttons.
The iPhone 12 belongs to the Face ID model so you will need to use the Side button and Volume button for screen capture.
And here’s how it works.
1. To get started, go to the screen that you’d like to capture.
To proceed with this demo, let’s just use the Home screen as an example.
2. Once you get there, press the Side button and the Volume Up button at the same time and then quickly release both buttons.
The screenshot thumbnail will appear shortly in the lower-left corner of the screen.
You may opt to view or dismiss it right away.
3. To view or open the screenshot, tap on the thumbnail.
To dismiss the thumbnail, just swipe left.
4. If you tapped on the thumbnail, the screenshot will open in editable mode.
You can use the built-in controls to customize the screenshot according to your preferences.
Different markup tools are also lined up at the bottom, so all you have to do is tap on your preferred tool to use.
5. After making necessary edits, tap Done.
6. If prompted, tap to Save the screenshot to Photos or to Files.
There is also an option to Delete Screenshot if you don’t like what you see and you’d like to retake or recapture it.
To take another screenshot, just go to the desired screen and then repeat the steps to capture it.
And that’s all about taking a screenshot on the iPhone 12.
Where to Find your Screenshots?
If you’re wondering where your screenshots are stored, just go to your iPhone’s screenshots directory.
To do this, simply open the Photos app, tap Albums and then select the Screenshots folder. All screenshots will show up in this section.
Hope this helps!
