iPhone 6 Plus Blurry Camera After iOS 8.4 Update

Problem: Hi.. I just purchased iphone 6 plus and after i upgraded to ios 8.4 the camera became blurry. I attached some of the picture. I have tried to restart the phone but nothing change.. Please help me to fix this.. Thanks so much.

Solution: Did this issue occur after you updated your phone to iOS 8.4 or was this also present prior to the update? If it occurred after the update then try to perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Make sure that the camera lens is clean. If you need to clean the lens, use a microfiber cloth. If you see dirt or debris inside the lens, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider for more help.
  • Make sure that there’s nothing blocking the camera lens. If you’re using a case, try removing it.
  • With iPhone 6 Plus, a metallic case or magnetic lens could interfere with optical image stabilization. If you have a metallic case or magnetic lens attachment, try taking a picture without it. Then compare the quality.
  • Adjust the focus by tapping on the person or object in the preview screen. You’ll see the screen pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as the camera adjusts. In photo mode, try to stay steady when adjusting the focus. If you move too far in any direction, the camera will automatically refocus to the center. In video mode, you can adjust the focus before you begin recording.
  • If the color seems too bright, or you see double-exposures of moving objects, make sure that HDR is set to Auto or Off. Tap HDR at the top of the screen to choose a different setting.

If the problem persists then backup your phone data then restore your phone and set it up as a new device.

Before you restore your phone

  • Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes.
  • Use iTunes to back up your device. Transfer and sync any additional content to your computer.
  • If you’re using iOS 6 or later, go to Settings > iCloud and Turn OFF Find My iPhone.

To restore your phone

  • Connect your device to your computer using the cable that came with it.
  • Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod when it appears in iTunes.
  • In the Summary panel, click Restore.
  • Click Restore again to confirm that you want to restore your device to factory settings and delete all data and content. iTunes will download the device software file and restore your device.
  • After your device is restored to factory settings, it will restart. When it does, you’ll see the “Slide to set up” welcome screen. Follow the steps in the device Setup Assistant. You can set up your device as new or use a previous backup. If you restored an iOS device that has cellular service, it will activate after you finish setting up your device.

If the issue still persists then have your phone checked at the nearest Apple Store as this may already be a hardware related issue.

iPhone 6 Photo Gets Blurry When Zoomed

Problem: Hey. My name is Eugene. I noticed about yesterday, Sunday, when I wanted to take a picture of something and when I zoomed in my rear camera was becoming blurry and it wasn’t really focusing at the location I was trying to take the picture. If I try to take a picture at something close it’s totally fine but when I zoom in it becomes blurry and it won’t focus at all. I already tried resetting my iPhone 6 Plus and also putting the camera to my palm while the camera app is on but nothing worked. Is there like any solution to fix this problem or should I just go to the store that I brought this iPhone 6 Plus and tell them the problem? P.S. I already tried turning the phone off and turning back on but it didn’t work. I also hold the turn off button with the home button to shut off and I than turned it back on and still didn’t work.

Solution: This issue may already be hardware related as we have been getting several reports of this particular model having difficulty focusing on a subject when zoomed in. You should however make sure that this issue is not software related by performing the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

I also recommend restoring your phone to its original condition and setting it up as a new device. Make sure to backup your phone data before performing this procedure.

If the issue still persists then bring your phone to the nearest Apple Store for further diagnosis.
