Facebook keeps a record of the videos you watch, which can be useful for revisiting content or managing your online footprint. Here’s how you can access and manage your Facebook video watch history.
Accessing Your Facebook Video Watch History
On a Mobile Device
- Open the Facebook App: Start by opening the Facebook app on your mobile device.
- Navigate to Settings: Tap the hamburger menu icon, which is located in the bottom right corner on iPhone and in the top right corner on Android.
- Select Settings & Privacy: From the menu, tap on Settings & privacy and then select Settings.
- Go to Activity Log: Scroll down and tap on Activity log.
- Filter by Videos Watched: Once in the Activity Log, swipe horizontally on the list of available activities and tap on Videos watched. This will display all the videos you have recently watched.
On a Computer
- Visit Facebook: Open your preferred web browser and go to Facebook.
- Access Your Profile: Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Navigate to Settings: Select Settings & privacy > Settings from the dropdown menu.
- Go to Activity Log: Scroll down the left sidebar and click on Activity log.
- Select Videos Watched: In the Activity Log, select Videos you’ve watched to see a list of all the videos you have recently watched.
Deleting Your Facebook Video Watch History
Deleting Specific Videos
- Locate the Video: Find the video you want to delete from your watch history.
- Delete the Video: Click or tap on the three dots icon next to the video and choose Delete.
Deleting Entire Watch History
- Access Videos Watched: Follow the steps above to access your Videos watched section.
- Clear Watch History: Tap or click on Clear video watch history at the top of the screen and confirm the action.
Deleting Watch History for a Selected Time Period
- Access Videos Watched: Go to the Videos watched section.
- Apply Filters: Tap or click on the filter icon at the top left, then select Date and choose a start and end date.
- Delete Selected Videos: After applying the filters, tap or click Clear video watch history to delete the videos watched during the selected time period.

- Privacy Considerations: If you use a shared device, clearing your watch history can help protect your privacy by removing any videos you do not want others to see.
- Algorithm Adjustments: Deleting videos from your watch history can also help adjust Facebook's algorithm, which recommends videos based on your viewing history. Removing unwanted videos can improve the relevance of recommended content.
- Reels and Other Content: Note that Reels you watch are not saved to your video watch history and cannot be deleted in the same way. However, you can hide Reels or choose to see fewer of them by using the Hide reel or Show less options.
