How To Fix iPhone 11 Pro That Has No Internet Access But Connected To Wi-Fi Network

Surfacing among the common problems encountered by smartphone owners is on the internet. Any device can experience various types of internet problems at any time. And Apple’s new iPhone flagships have no exception. There are many factors to consider when dealing with internet problems on your smartphone. Server downtime, temporary network outages, account-related issues, firmware issues on the network equipment, software glitches on the affected device, and other software-related triggers must be ruled out individually. To give you some inputs, I’ve mapped out some handy tweaks to deal with a similar issue on the new iPhone 11 Pro. Read on to find out what to do if your new iPhone has no internet access but connected to the Wi-Fi network.

Troubleshooting an iPhone 11 Pro that has no internet access but connected to Wi-Fi network

Internet problems are among the complex issues any smartphone users can encounter at some point. Complex, in the sense that the underlying causes are so many that identifying the main source can be exhausting. Thankfully, various methods can be applied when troubleshooting internet problems. The main issue that we’re trying to resolve in this post is on no browsing. And highlighted below are recommended procedures to fix an iPhone 11 Pro that has no internet access even if it’s connected to the Wi-Fi network. These methods are often used to rule out software-related causes. Given them a try before opting for service.

First solution: Power cycle the network equipment

The main source of your internet connection is the network equipment and that’s either a wireless router or modem/router. This equipment is usually provided by your carrier or internet service provider for your account’s data subscription. Like many other electronic devices, modems and routers also encounter some random firmware crashes. And when this happens, various types of internet problems would arise. One of these is having no internet connection. Should this be just a minor firmware crash, power cycling the modem/router in use will usually be able to fix the problem. Thus, if you can access your network equipment right now, follow these steps to power cycle it:

  1. Turn off your modem/router by pressing on the power button.
  2. While the device is powered off, unplug its AC adapter from the power source. Keep it that way for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  3. After the elapsed time, press the power button to turn it back on.
  4. Wait for all the light indicators to become stable.

Your iPhone will then re-establish Wi-Fi signal. Once the signal has stabilized, you can reconnect to Wi-Fi and see if you can now go online and access the internet on your device.

Second solution: Reboot your iPhone

Restarting the phone can also help fix various types of random issues including those affecting the Wi-Fi feature. Doing so clears out minor software errors and in-app glitches including those that caused internet flaws. If you haven’t already, follow these steps to soft reset your iPhone 11 Pro:

  1. Simultaneously press and hold the Side and Volume Up buttons for a few seconds.
  2. Release both buttons when the Slide to Power off bar appears.
  3. Swipe or drag the bar to turn your device off.
  4. After about 30 seconds, press and hold the Side button and then release when the Apple logo appears.

Performing a soft reset on an iPhone is also a way of dumping useless caches and temporary internet files including those that corrupted your iPhone’s internet connection.

Third solution: Disconnect Wi-Fi then reconnect

Another simple solution to minor Wi-Fi internet problems is to restart the Wi-Fi feature of your iPhone. This means turning Wi-Fi off for a few seconds and then back on again. Surprisingly, a lot of issues can be resolved by carrying out this simple procedure. Thus, it wouldn’t hurt if you’d give it a try as well. Just follow these steps:

  1. Tap Settings from your Home screen.
  2. Select Wi-Fi.
  3. Tap the Wi-Fi switch to the OFF position.

You can also use the old trick to simultaneously turn off wireless features of your iPhone for a few seconds and then turn back on again. This trick is carried out through the Airplane Mode toggle. And here’s how it’s done:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Select Airplane Mode.
  3. Toggle the Airplane Mode switch to turn the feature ON. Doing so disables your iPhone’s wireless radios and associated features like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
  4. While Airplane Mode is turned on, reboot or soft reset your iPhone to clear out network cache.
  5. After it reboots, go back to Settings-> Airplane Mode menu.
  6. Then toggle the Airplane Mode switch to turn it OFF again.

Wait for your iPhone to re-establish Wi-Fi signal. Once the signal has become stable, connect to your Wi-Fi network then open your browser to test your internet connection.

Fourth solution: Forget Wi-Fi network then add it back

Your device may still not be able to access the internet because it’s connected to a corrupted Wi-Fi network. If this is the case, then deleting the corrupt network then setting it up again would be necessary. Just refer to these steps to forget the Wi-Fi network on your iPhone 11 Pro:

  1. Start by heading to your iPhone Settings-> Wi-Fi menu and make sure that the Wi-Fi switch is turned on.
  2. Scroll down to the list of available Wi-Fi networks and then select the network that your iPhone is connected to.
  3. Tap the information “i” icon next to the name of the selected Wi-Fi network.
  4. Then tap the option to Forget this Network.
  5. If prompted, tap Forget Network to confirm network deletion.

Repeat the same steps to forget any other saved Wi-Fi networks that you no longer use. Doing so is recommended to prevent any unsecured or open Wi-Fi networks from interfering with or causing conflicts to the current network in use.

Fifth solution: Reset network settings to fix your iPhone 11 Pro that has no internet access

The next factors you should eliminate are network-related errors like incorrect network configuration or invalid network customization on the phone. This is when resetting the network settings on your iPhone is needed. It erases all your current network settings along with relevant errors on the phone. It doesn’t affect the internal data so you don’t need to back up files from your device. Just refer to these steps if you wish to give this reset a try:

  1. Tap Settings from the Home screen.
  2. Scroll down to and select General
  3. Tap Reset then select Reset network settings option.
  4. Enter your device passcode if prompted.
  5. Tap Reset network settings again to confirm.

Your phone restarts on its own after the reset and then loads up the default network values and options. To get back online, you will need to set up your Wi-Fi network and then join or connect to it like the first time you did. Be sure to enter the correct Wi-Fi password then.

Last resort: Erase your iPhone and restore its factory default settings

What you’re dealing with could be a fatal system error that totally ruined your iPhone’s  internet functions. If you wish to troubleshoot further, performing a factory reset can be deemed among the last methods to try. This reset wipes everything from your iPhone system including saved data and erratic files that caused recurring internet symptoms. Just be sure to back up all your important data beforehand so you’d still be able to recover them afterwards. Just follow these steps whenever you’re all set to factory reset your iPhone 11 Pro:

  1. From the Home screen, tap on Settings.
  2. Select General.
  3. Scroll down and tap on Reset.
  4. Tap Erase all content and settings from the given options.
  5. Enter your passcode if prompted to continue.
  6. Confirm action by tapping the option to erase and reset your iPhone.

You can also use iTunes to manually erase your iPhone and restore its factory defaults using a computer.

Still got no internet access on your iPhone 11 Pro

If the problem continues after performing all the above procedures, there’s a higher chance that the underlying cause isn’t on your iOS device or the network equipment in use but rather on your network service provider. One of the last things you can try on your end to eliminate network-related errors is to update the carrier settings on your iPhone. Since your phone doesn’t have an internet connection, you will need to use iTunes to get this done. Here’s how:

  1. Connect your iPhone to the computer and then open iTunes. Be sure to use the latest version of iTunes app to avoid bumping into some system conflicts.
  2. Wait for your device to sync and back up with iTunes.
  3. Click to select your iPhone 11 Pro when it appears in iTunes.
  4. Navigate to the Summary section and then hold down the Shift key on the keyboard and click Check for Update. Doing so will prompt iTunes to install an iOS image (*.ipsw).
  5. Change the file type to iPhone/iPad Carrier Configuration File (*.ipcc).
  6. Select the desired file and then follow the rest of the onscreen instructions to complete the process.
  7. When the carrier update installation is complete, turn your iPhone off and then disconnect it from the computer.

Another update you should implement is the firmware update rolled out by Apple periodically, otherwise known as iOS updates. These updates can be installed automatically via OTA (over-the-air) but since your phone cannot access the internet, you can try it through iTunes. Just follow these steps:

  1. 400;”>Connect your iPhone to the computer using the original USB or Lightning cable.
  2. Open iTunes on the computer and wait for it to recognize and sync with your iPhone.
  3. Select your iPhone 11 Pro when it appears on the computer.
  4. Navigate to the Summary section and then click the button to Check for Update.
  5. If an update is available, click the button to Download and Update your phone.
  6. Enter your passcode, if prompted to continue.
  7. Then follow the rest of the onscreen prompts to finish installing the new update on your iPhone

If none of that works, then this is the point when you should escalate the problem to your internet service provider. You can ask them to reprovision the network equipment remotely. This is often needed to address internet symptoms attributed to random firmware crashes on the wireless router or modem in use.

For further suggestions and more advanced solutions, you can also report the problem to Apple Support. There might be some fatal iOS errors, corrupting the phone’s wireless internet functions.
