This post will walk you through terminating Netflix streaming service on an updated iOS device. Here’s a quick guide to cancel Netflix subscription on an iPhone.
Terminating/Pausing Netflix Subscription
Recently, more and more people are becoming less interested about the streaming contents Netflix is offering. In fact, many have decided to terminate Netflix subscription and switched to other platforms for new and interesting video offers. This is on top of the price increase the platform has imposed in line with its objective to “monetize over a hundred million households that are currently enjoying but not directly paying for Netflix.”
If you too think of canceling or pausing your Netflix subscription, there are a few things that you need to note.
First, you cannot cancel or pause your Netflix subscription straight from the iOS app on your iPhone or iPad.
As Netflix has clearly stated on their support page, you can cancel your Netflix account at any time but the only way to do it is through its official website. This denotes the need for you to sign into your Netflix account through the web browser.

Whatever reason you may have for quitting Netflix, whether you’re no longer interested in Netflix contents or just wanted to cut costs, just follow these simple steps:
Step 1: To begin, launch a web browser app on your iPhone. You can use Chrome, Firefox, Safari or any other browser app you’ve got running on your iOS device.
Step 2: Navigate to the Netflix website to continue.
Step 3: Select your Profile icon on the top-right corner of the screen. Doing so will load up a pop-up menu with a list of options.
Step 4: Select Account from the menu options to proceed.
Step 5: While in the Account page, find then click Cancel Membership from the Membership & Billing section.
Follow the rest of the onscreen instructions to confirm your Netflix membership cancellation.
You will be notified of the specific date when the cancellation takes effect.
If you choose to re-subscribe to Netflix within 10 months after terminating the service, you may still be able to recover your account profiles and other relevant information as well as your preferences and favorites.
Netflix subscriptions can also be canceled straight through the iPhone settings. This however is only applicable if you used your Apple ID to sign up to Netflix through your iPhone (when it was still allowed by Netflix).
Just follow these steps:
Step 1: First, launch the Settings app menu on your iOS device.
Step 2: From the settings menu, tap on your Apple ID profile banner on the top of the menu.
Step 3: Tap Subscriptions on the succeeding window to proceed.
Step 4: On the next screen, find and tap Next from the list.
Step 5: To cancel the service, tap Cancel Subscription then confirm action on the pop-up window.
You will need to wait until the end of the current billing period for the cancellation to take effect though. Rest assured, you won’t be getting any further charges on your next billing cycle.
