How to Download and Install New Free Fonts on Apple iPhone SE 2021

This post will teach you how to download and install new free fonts on the iPhone SE 2020 handset. Read on to learn one of the available means to utilize custom fonts on your new iOS smartphone.

Introducing the iOS 13 Custom Fonts

Users of iOS 13 and later devices can now utilize custom fonts using different methods such as fonts manager, through the App Store and custom fonts within an app. This denotes a better alternative to those who aren’t satisfied with the system-wide font faces.

Custom fonts are typically used in non-system apps such as Microsoft Office, iWork, and Adobe CC. All you have to do is to download and install the preferred font and then choose it in the desired application.

In this quick guide, I will show you one of the methods to use custom fonts on the Apple iPhone SE 2020 and that is by downloading new fonts through the App Store.

And here’s how it’s done.

Easy Steps to Download and Install New Free Fonts on your iPhone SE 2020

Time Needed : 10 minutes

The actual steps in downloading and installing new fonts may vary between font apps. The steps depicted below are only applicable to the Fonts for iPhone application.

Available font faces, styles and how they’re used may also vary between fonts app.

Here, the Fonts app shows a list of all available fonts you can copy and use on certain apps on your iPhone.

How to use Custom Fonts on your iPhone SE

Again, not all iOS apps support custom fonts so you may not be able to use any of these fonts on some of your apps.

Let’s try it with Notes and see if it works. That said, open the Notes app, create a new note and then let’s paste the font we’ve copied earlier.

If it shows, then that font app works with the phone’s Notes app.

Just repeat the same steps to check and see if it also works with other text-based apps on  your phone.

Other Ways to Use Custom Fonts in iOS 13

Aside from downloading new fonts, you can also use custom fonts straight from the fonts manager in some select apps of your iPhone. Among these are the Mail app, Pages, and Keynote. More apps are expected to support custom fonts considering the imminent release of Photoshopt for iOS that’s set later this year.

To access the fonts manager, simply open any of the supported apps like Pages and Numbers. In Pages, you can try creating a new document and then tap on the brush icon in the navigation bar at the top. Doing so will bring up the formatting options where you can tap on the current font and then scroll through the list of other font faces and font styles installed.

All downloaded and installed custom fonts can also be accessed through Settings-> General-> Fonts menu of your phone.Just tap to select any of the available font faces and font styles.

And that covers everything in this quick walk-through.
