Want to give your iPhone lock screen a personal touch? With iOS 16 and later, you can customize the font and color of the clock widget on your lock screen. It’s simple, fast, and a great way to match your wallpaper or aesthetic.

Here’s how to do it:


Customize the Clock on Your iPhone Lock Screen

  1. Wake your iPhone and stay on the Lock Screen.
  2. Long-press anywhere on the screen until the Customize button appears.
  3. Tap Customize on the lock screen you want to edit.
  4. Tap the Clock to open the font and color options.
  5. Choose from 8 font styles (currently the only options available).
  6. Below the fonts, select a color or tap the color wheel to use a custom shade.
  7. Tap the X to close the editor once you’re happy with the changes.
  8. Tap Done in the top-right corner to save.
  9. Choose Set as Wallpaper Pair to match the Home Screen, or Customize Home Screen if you want to style it differently.

Things to Note

  • Fonts are still limited to 8 choices, but color customization is wide open.
  • You can preview changes in real-time as you tweak them.
  • If you’re using Focus Modes, you can set different lock screens for different focuses.
