Global branding consultancy firm Interbrand has posted its list of the top 10 most valuable brands in the world, and Apple has unsurprisingly managed to top the list. Interestingly, this is the 7th consecutive year that Apple is retaining the top spot. The list also includes other brands like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Coca-Cola, and so on.
Each brand is scored based on 10 metrics determined by Interbrand, such as clarity, commitment, governance, responsiveness, relevance, engagement, differentiation, consistency, authenticity, and presence. The firm clarifies that the company’s financial situation is not considered in the rankings.
Interbrand further explained – “We have a deep understanding of the impact a strong brand has on key stakeholder groups that influence the growth [of a] business, namely (current and prospective) customers, employees, and investors. Strong brands influence customer choice and create loyalty; attract, retain, and motivate talent; and lower the cost of financing. Our brand valuation methodology has been specifically designed to take all of these factors into account.”
Interbrand concluded that Apple’s brand value is currently at a 9% increase over last year. You can check out the list of the top 10 companies ranked by Interbrand below:
While Apple used to be a trillion-dollar company a few months ago, that’s no longer the case as its valuation has shrunk by quite a bit since then. However, with its brand still valued highly by the market, the company appears to be on the right track. It will be interesting to see if the Cupertino giant will be able to hold on to this advantage for long.
