As per a note by renowned investor Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is looking to launch the iPhone SE 2, a new iPad Pro, as well as the heavily rumored Apple AR Glasses in early 2020. This makes a lot of sense given the direction that Apple is headed in combined with the fact that we’ve come across multiple reports on each of these devices.
As for the new iPad Pro models, it is said that the company will offer them in the same 11-inch and 12.9-inch models, but what’s new will be Apple’s time-of-flight sensors that accurately judge the distance between multiple objects as well as the lens of the camera. This could also mean the addition of the triple-camera layout as we’ve seen on the iPhone 11 Pro earlier this year.
The rumored AR headset will reportedly break cover in the first quarter of 2020 with production expected to begin by the end of 2019. This will reportedly work as an add-on accessory to your primary iPhone, pretty much like how the Apple Watch functions. Kuo further adds that Apple will join forces with third-party manufacturers to offer AR Helmets later in the year.
There has been plenty of talk about Apple’s intentions to revive the iPhone SE lineup with a second-gen model. Kuo believes this will launch concurrently with the AR glasses as well as the new iPad Pro. In terms of hardware, Kuo sticks with rumors that talked about the processing power of an iPhone 11 (Apple A13) while the design and most of the hardware will be borrowed from the iPhone 8. It will be interesting to see if this particular rumor will materialize given that the iPhone SE managed to perform quite well in emerging markets.
