iPhone 7 Plus Front Camera Not Working

Problem: Hi! I have an iPhone 7+ and the front camera isn’t working. To give you a breakdown of the iPhone’s history: I’ve used the same type of case for all 5 of my iPhones over the past 8-9 years. The case is solid and well approved. I’ve dropped my phones countless times he never had any issues with any of them. A few weeks ago, my phone fell but my laptop and a 700 page textbook also smashed into, shattering the screen. Everything else was working through – touch function, speakers, camera were all functional. The spider part of the screen bothered me so I took it to a repair shop, and they put a new screen on it. After that, the top speaker, front camera, and LCD function diminished and stopped working altogether. I went back and they either put a new LCD screen on it or reinstalled the screen (I’m not sure). They also put in a new speaker for the top of the phone. Everything was working fine until a few days ago when the front camera intermittently wouldn’t work. I powered the phone off and on a few times, reset all settings, and still couldn’t get the front camera to work (black screen). Finally I powered the phone down for 20 min and it was working when I turned it back on. 15 min later though, it stopped working and now I’m stuck with a black screen whenever I turn the front camera on. Flashlight and flash still work, as does the back camera. Is this a hardware problem? I thought it might have been a software problem because it was intermittent, but now it won’t work at all which makes me think the guy who has been repairing my phone over and over hasn’t been installing everything properly which is why i keep having issues a week after the repair. Please let me know your thoughts – I would really appreciate it. Also I am on iOS 10.2.2 or something. I haven’t updated because I had heard mixed reviews about the newest software, but I should point out that these camera issues only started after the first repair (not even when the screen was broken)

Solution: The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to first check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Since your phone is running on an outdated software version I suggest that you update your phone software first. Once the phone software is updated proceed with a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely a hardware related problem already. You will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

iPhone 7 Not Showing Wi-Fi Authentication Page

Problem: I want to ask if you know if there is any security or software bug with the free WiFi when using iPhone 7 Plus. I have problems and both my husband and son with iphone6s  don’t and didn’t-Anywhere where there is free WiFi ( no password needed but after the phone shows that it connects to free WiFi a page usually comes up asking you for email identification etc.) my iPhone does not go to that stage so I can’t use the free WiFi ( like at airports or hotels) and just shows that as if it is joined to the free internet BUT it isn’t because that identification stage page doesn’t come up. I am SO frustrated because I tried reset and also everything that was on https://www.ikream.com/fix-apple-iphone-7-wont-connect-wi-fi-troubleshooting-guide-24496/amp BUT nothing helped . I did all that was on that was on the link Any WiFi with a password connects without any problem at all And the others show they are linked and even show a WiFi fan on the phone but they aren’t linked because the identification page ( usually asks for email address ) does NOT show up.

Solution: There are instances when the iPhone will have issue trying to load the authentication page of a free Wi-Fi network. When this happens you will need to manually access the authentication page by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Connect to the free Wi-Fi network. Once connected the phone should load the authentication page. If it doesn’t then proceed with the next step.
  • Get the router IP address. Go to iPhone Settings > Wi-Fi > tap on “i” of selected Wi-Fi network > Next Screen DHCP Tab > Router IP.
  • Copy this router IP Address and type into your browser address field and tap Enter to load the page.
  • You should now be able to access the authentication page.
