If you’re looking to get your hands on the AirPods Pro in time from Christmas from Apple’s online store, well, you’re out of luck as the latest they can arrive at your doorstep is by December 31. As per a new report, Apple has asked its supplier Luxshare Precision to increase the production of the AirPods Pro to 2 million units per month, thus offering some hope for customers who couldn’t get their hands on these earbuds yet.
On the other hand, the company is reportedly bumping up orders for the standard AirPods which is produced by Goertek and Luxshare in Vietnam. Fortunately, the AirPods Pro can still be purchased via carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile, in addition to retailers like Best Buy and Amazon with a shipping estimate of around the 1st week of December as of today.
So it seems like customers are better off looking at authorized Apple resellers for the AirPods Pro at the moment. As a bonus, you also stand to save quite a few bucks on the standard pricing as Black Friday approaches.
The AirPods Pro brings significant improvements over the standard AirPods introduced by Apple a few years ago. This is primarily due to the inclusion of Active Noise Cancellation which works in tandem with “Transparency Mode” allowing you to quickly know exactly what’s happening around you using a software button on your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch. It also supports multiple tap and gesture controls for easy music playback.
The AirPods Pro is priced at $249 while the standard AirPods with Wireless Charging Case will set you back by $199. You can choose to get the entry-level model which comes with a wired charging case (Lightning) for $159 or even lower depending on the retailer you choose.
