Analyst Confirms Early 2021 Release Timeframe for the iPhone SE 2 With a Price Tag of $399

Following a previous report which talked about an early 2020 release for the iPhone SE 2, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has added some other interesting notes in his new research report. Kuo mentions that in addition to launching by Q1 2020, the phone will come with a price tag of $399.

This report reiterates older rumors that the iPhone SE 2 will feature the latest Apple A13 CPU which is the same as one used on the recent iPhone 11. Kuo also mentions the inclusion of 3GB LPDDR4X RAM as well as 64GB and 128GB storage options. The iPhone SE 2 will reportedly lack the 3D Touch option, which makes sense given that this is supposed to be a low-cost alternative to the flagship iPhones. New to the lineup is the addition of Space Gray as well as Silver and Red colors.

This handset is expected to strike a chord with owners of the iPhone 6 as well as 6s who are looking for an upgrade but don’t quite want to spend big on a new iPhone. It won’t be a surprise if Apple brings this to developing markets like Brazil and India first, followed by other markets like the U.S., UK, Germany, and so on.

There’s still some time to go before we see the iPhone SE 2 in action, but what we’re more excited about is the rumored Apple AR glasses which could be a game-changer for the Cupertino giant. However, given that this is Apple’s first attempt at smart glasses, the market will be understandably skeptical.
