If you have been trying to look for the Amazon Prime Video app on the App Store and can’t find it, well, you’re not alone. As of this morning at 11:40 AM Eastern Time, users started reporting about the disappearance of the app. However, there’s still no word from Amazon or Apple on the sudden disappearance of the app from one of the world’s premier app hubs.
Fortunately, users who already downloaded the app can continue using it, although some users reportedly faced some issues while opening it. Users who previously downloaded the app but have since deleted it can also recover the app from their past downloads. So the removal of the app only seems to affect new users of Prime Video for now.
From what we can tell, this is not a permanent removal but a temporary bug that has affected the App Store. Since there’s no official info from Apple or Amazon, we can only speculate at this point. It is worth pointing out, however, that users can still see the rest of Amazon’s app lineup including Amazon Photos and Amazon Music on the App Store.
Prime Video fans, we highly recommend checking out Netflix in the meantime.
