Before you begin, verify and ensure that the correct email account (mail account) is already set up on your iOS device. If you’re planning to create a new folder for a new email account, then you’ll need to setup the new account on your iPhone beforehand.
When everything is ready, you may go ahead and proceed with these steps.
Step 1: Open Mail app to get started. Just find and then tap the Mail icon from the Home screen.
Step 2: In the Mailbox screen, tap Edit on the upper-rightmost corner. Doing so will switch the mailbox menu to editable mode.
Step 3: Tap Add Mailbox to add a new mailbox folder for the Mail app account then select your preferred mailbox to add. Do this if you’ve already created the desired mailbox folder. Otherwise, proceed to the next step.
Step 4: Tap New Mailbox under the Gmail (or any other email service) section to create a new mailbox folder for your Gmail account. Doing so opens the New Mailbox screen where you can enter necessary details.
Step 5: On the succeeding window, enter the Mailbox name into the provided text field.
Step 6: After entering the mailbox name, set or specify the mailbox location.
Step 7: When everything is finished, tap Save. The new mailbox folder will be added to the list of existing folders in Gmail.
Step 8: When finished creating mailboxes, tap Done on the Mailboxes menu to exit.
Just repeat the same steps to create or add another mailbox for the mail app.

Moving Emails to New Custom Mailbox

Doing so will take you to the Edit Mailbox window where you can change the name, mailbox location or delete the selected mailbox. Simply tap Delete Mailbox to remove the selected mailbox from the mail app and then tap Save on the top-rightmost corner to apply the recent changes.
