SOLUTION 1: CHECK CHARGING CABLE
Make sure you are using a charging cable that came with your iPhone when you purchased it. Using a third party charges that are not MFI (Made For iPhone) Chargers can damage your iPhone overtime. Also, third party chargers cannot fully charge your iPhone efficiently as they can easily heat up thus causing battery to be insufficiently charged. SOLUTION 2: CHECK LIGHTNING CHARGING PORT
Use a small flashlight to look inside of the charging port of your device as any dirt or debris might have lodged into the port which can cause charging issues on your iPhone device. Dirt and debris prevents smooth connection between your iPhone and its charging cable. If there’s a need to remove dirt from the inside of the charging port, use a clean toothbrush or an anti-static brush to prevent damaging the inside of the charging port.

The iPhone 11 line up also comes with the new iOS 13 update. This new update is offering a new feature which is “Optimized Battery Charging”. This feature aims to increase the lifespan of the battery on your device. Which means that when it is disabled, it will automatically stop charging at 80% charging level making one wonder whether or not there is a problem with charging or just because of the new features.
Although enabling Optimized Battery Charging is helpful, we can never know for sure if it is related to the charging issues experience by Apple user on iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. That is why it is recommended to disable “Optimized Battery Charging” first to know if charging continues up to 100% or not.
To disable ‘Optimized Battery Charging’, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings from the Home Screen
- Tap on Battery
- Next tap on Battery Health
- Toggle Off Optimized Battery Charging
- Try to charge your iPhone Device again to see if the problem has been fixed.
- If at any point the problem still persists despite disable the feature, you can enable it again to return to its main function of increasing the lifespan of your battery.
