iPhone X Camera Has Black Spot
Problem: My iPhone X is having this issue where I turn the camera on and I record a video in a lightly lit room and I pointed it at my white wall and I could see a black spot in the center, I tried cleaning it with a soft cloth and nope still there, this is one of the issues I had that is fairly new, the other one is related to sound where I hear a muffle or distortion when i’m on speakerphone on a phone call, this happens in facetime as well for some odd reason I am on my 3rd iPhone X since the apple store replaced it twice as a courtesy but now I am thinking about returning it and just switching to the Galaxy S9+ this is frustrating and a rushed phone design on apple’s part
Solution: Regarding the black spot that you see when you use the camera of your phone this is most likely caused by dust trapped inside the camera lens. You should bring the phone to the nearest Apple Store as they will handle this problem as long as you did not drop your phone and break the camera lens. Some owners of this model who have experienced the same problem had either the camera of the phone replaced or they were given a new unit.
For the second issue regarding the sound quality of the phone you should perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- If your phone has a case installed then remove it as this might be causing the problem.
- Make sure that your phone is running on the latest software version.
- Make sure that the speakerphone of the phone is free from any dirt or debris.
- Try turning off noise cancellation. Settings > General > Accessibility> Phone Noise Cancellation.
- Try to uninstall any third party call apps in your phone if you have one installed.
- Backup your phone data then restore your phone to its factory settings. Setup your phone as a new device.
