5 Best Boston Parking App For iPhone

Boston. The Athens of America. It’s a beautiful city that many great technical innovations have come out of. Not only a great city for tourists and a place to visit, but excellent for the working professionals as well. Unfortunately, due to its density, it just isn’t a great place for driving, and finding a place to park seems like a nigh impossible task. If you’re out on your own searching for a place to park, you’re going to be paddling up a creek. Luckily, technology has made parking in Boston a whole lot easier, with you just being able to download an app on your iPhone to find a parking spot. Just download and open up a Boston parking app for iPhone, enter in your location, and it’ll help you find an open space, whether on a street, parking garage, or somewhere else.

Not sure which one to pick up for your iPhone? Follow along below, and we’ll show you some of our favorites. Here are our top picks.

ParkBoston

ParkBoston might not be exactly an app to help you navigate and find parking spaces across the Athens of America; however, it is a great way to pay for spots that are managed by the City of Boston. See a parking meter or space with a ParkBoston logo? Then you can download the the ParkBoston app right on your phone, and then pay for your car’s parking through there. You will receive notifications when your time is low. Also you can have parking receipts emailed to you and have a record of all your Boston parking — even mailed to you — which is perfect for when it comes tax time to write off those business expenses. It is a very handy app for the business traveler who needs receipts for the office.

ParkWhiz

ParkWhiz is up next on our list, and unlike ParkBoston, you can actually use this one to find parking spaces and spots in garages. This is becuase ParkWhiz has actually worked to broker a large number of spots in parking garages around America, allowing ParkWhiz to offer spots to you at lower prices than you would find if you just came wandering off the streets. ParkWhiz works all across the US, so if you’re visiting Boston, you’ll need to choose from their list of locations in Boston and see what kind of savings you can get. Then you can pay in advance and reserve your spot for the day. Or, if you’re in another city, you can just enter in the name, and see what’s available!

Also you can have multiple user names in this app so that you can keep your personal visits and business parking expenditures separate and easy to use — again, an extremely nice feature for tax time.

SpotHero

And in third place on our list, we have a neat option called SpotHero. SpotHero works similar to ParkWhiz, just without being able to offer you dirt cheap spots. Choose the city you’re in, and then SpotHero will help you find any open and free spaces for parking your car. It even has some features to make group parking easy! Tell it the day and time you want to park and it will give you prices allowing you to comparison shop for price and location.  Then finally, you can book your spot in advance. No driving around hoping you make it before the best spots are gone. Arrive at your designated time and your spot will be there waiting.

SpotAngel

SpotAngel is similar to SpotHero in a couple of ways, but actually has one major feature that sets it apart from the rest. This parking gem is actually run by the people who use it — the SpotAngel community. It shows maps of cities where the app is available, including Boston. With the power of the SpotAngel community, you’ll be able to snag up to date information on free and paid parking spots, where they’re at, and it even has all the up to date info on pricing that you need. It shows where free parking and parking garages are so you don’t have to pay anything. Not only that, but This gives you a chance at nabbing a free sparking spot, saving you between $15 and $30 in parking for the day!

Parkmobile

Coming in a number one place, we have a favorite — ParkMobile. This is the mother of all parking apps, working and bartering with all sorts of parking garages to deliver you only the best prices. You can  actually get up to 50% off on parking, depending on the garage. It has info on all kinds of parking including free and street parking. One of their highlights is the 24 hour, 7 day a week, top of the line customer service. Super helpful for negotiating or resolving any parking issues. One of our favorite features with Parkmobile is the “find your car” and “parking favorites” features so that you can reserve your favorite spot again.

Verdict

There are plenty of apps to choose from when it comes to parking in Boston. If you want to monitor your City of Boston parking space, ParkBoston is a great way to do that, but for actual parking, any one of these other apps will do just fine — especially ParkMobile!
