How to troubleshoot iPhone 7 Plus with Pandora app that keeps crashing

Before troubleshooting, check and ensure that your iPhone can access the Internet via Wi-Fi or cellular data. Streaming requires strong and stable Internet connection. If your iPhone is experiencing network connectivity issues, then that’s what you need to deal with first. Once network functions are restored, any affected network services including Pandora app will also be up and running again. Otherwise, continue and try any of these basic troubleshooting procedures.

First solution: Force close Pandora, other background apps then restart.

Some apps would tend to act up following a system change and this could be what’s transpiring on the Pandora app on your iPhone 7 Plus. This usually happens to apps that aren’t closed or in standby mode while implementing the new update to iOS. To rectify the error, forcing Pandora or any other background apps  to close can potentially fix it.

  1. Press the Home button twice quickly. Doing so will launch a new screen containing a list of recently used apps that aren’t closed.
  2. Swipe up on the Pandora music app preview to close it. Do the same to the rest of the app previews to force close or clear all background apps.

Once you’re done clearing apps, soft reset or restart your iPhone to wipe corrupted cached files and temporary data from the internal memory and to refresh the iPhone system.

  1. Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds until the Slide to Power Off command appears.
  2. Then drag the power off slider to the right to shut down your iPhone completely.
  3. After 30 seconds, press the Power button again until the Apple logo appears.

Wait until your iPhone boots up completely and then retry launching Pandora music app to see if it’s already working properly. If the problem persists, then move on and try the next solutions.

Second solution: Update Pandora and other apps with pending updates.

Installing pending updates to Pandora and other apps can also be the key to fixing the problem if it has something to do with some update bugs. App updates also offer fix patches to clear an app from any bugs and errors. To check for app updates, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the App Store icon from the Home screen.
  2. From the App Store main screen, tap the Updates icon at the bottom right. A list of apps with pending updates then shows up on the screen.
  3. Find the Pandora music app from the list then tap the Update button next to it. Doing so will install pending update for Instagram app.
  4. If you see multiple app updates, then you can update all apps simultaneously instead. Just hit the Update All button on the upper right of the screen.

Reboot your iPhone when all app updates are completely installed. Then launch Pandora app to see if the problem is solved.

Third solution: Uninstall Pandora then reinstall it from the App Store.

The app might have been totally corrupted from the update and is no longer functional. The only way to get the app to work again is to delete it from your iPhone and then reinstall it on the App Store. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Tap and hold on any app icon from the Home screen.
  2. When the icons start to wiggle, tap the X on the corner of the Pandora music app icon to uninstall it.
  3. If prompted, confirm action by tapping Delete.
  4. After deleting the app, restart your iPhone then head over to the App Store to search for, download, and install Pandora app on your device.

Restart your iPhone after deleting Pandora music app and then download the latest version of the app from the App Store. Make sure you download the app version that’s compatible with the current iOS version of your device. Here’s how:

  1. Open the App Store.
  2. While on the App Store main screen, tap the Search icon (magnifying glass).
  3. Navigate to the Search tab and then type Pandora music app for iPhone or Pandora Music in the search bar.
  4. Find and select the Pandora app from the search results.
  5. To download the app, tap Get and Install. If prompted, enter your Apple ID password to authorize and confirm app download and installation.

When the app download and installation is finished, reboot or soft reset your iPhone 7 Plus to apply recent changes accordingly. Then launch Pandora and see if it is already working fine and stable. If not, then you may continue to troubleshoot and this time take chances in software resets.

Fourth solution: Reset network settings on your iPhone 7 Plus.

This can help rectify post-update network errors that might have afflicted network apps and services including Pandora. This will erase current network settings on your iPhone and then restore the defaults. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Tap Settings from the Home screen.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Scroll to and tap Reset.
  4. Select Reset network settings from the given options.
  5. If prompted, enter your device passcode to continue.
  6. Then tap to confirm network settings reset.

Your iPhone will restart automatically when the reset is finished. After the restart, connect your iPhone to your Wi-Fi network to use online apps and services again.

Fifth solution: Reset all settings on your iPhone 7 Plus.

Resetting all settings will erase and restore system settings on the iPhone without affecting saved data. This can potentially resolve the problem with the Pandora app if it’s associated with invalid system settings on the iPhone. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Settings from the Home screen.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Scroll to and tap Reset.
  4. Select Reset all settings from the given options.
  5. If prompted, enter your device passcode to continue.
  6. Then tap to confirm system settings reset.

Wait until the reset is finished and when it’s done, your iPhone reboots. As soon as it boots up successfully, you can set up options and enable necessary features accordingly. Don’t forget to reconnect to Wi-Fi internet to use online apps and services on your phone again.
