How to troubleshoot iPhone 8 with Messenger that keeps crashing
Before you troubleshoot though, verify and ensure that your iPhone is connected to the Internet and that the connection is stable. An active and strong Internet connection is one of the key requisites to use Messenger on your device without any issues. The Messenger app itself would suddenly stop working if it failed to establish a stable communication with the Facebook server so your device has to be online.
If everything is good with the Internet connection on your iPhone but the Messenger app still failed to work smoothly, then it’s time to try some workarounds to fix the problem on your end.
First solution: Restart the app.
Random issues can occur to any mobile app be it a third-party or pre-installed application. Most of the time, minor firmware crashes are to blame. But in other cases, major software updates would trigger the problem. For as long as it’s a minor glitch, there is a higher chance for it to be rectified by quitting and restarting the app. Having said that, try to quit the Messenger app on your iPhone 8 and then after about 30 seconds, launch the app again.
