Choose video quality of Netflix videos you want to download

Your iPhone Netflix app allows you to see a snapchat of the remaining storage space on your device so you can estimate the amount of content to download.

Before you download shows or movies, you may also want to change their video quality. By default, all downloaded Netflix contents are set to Standard resolution but if you want to view them in finer, high resolution output, you can change the standard setting to Higher. This, however, will consume more storage space as better video quality also means larger file size. If you want to see the storage chart and change the video quality of your Netflix contents, follow the steps below:

  1. Download and install Netflix app from the App Store. If you’ve already installed Netflix ahead of time, make sure that you it’s updated to the latest version.
  2. Open Netflix app.
  3. Tap the Menu icon at the upper left side (three-line icon).
  4. Scroll down and tap App Settings.
  5. The chart of your iPhone’s data usage will be at the bottom.
  6. Tap on Video Quality to switch from Standard to Higher, or vice versa.

Netflix downloads expire

Keep in mind that downloaded Netflix won’t last forever. The expiration date is not the same for all contents although most of them gives you ample time to watch them. Some contents may only last for 2 days while others may last as long as a week.

If you did not have the time and were unable to watch your downloaded contents, simply redownload them the next time you get the chance. Doing so will refresh the expiration timer for that content.
